^^^ Adwoa’s physicality is more inspiring than just HF. She’s a muse. I don’t know nor care frankly, what she has to say that makes her so exasperating. I care that she has a radiance and the most sculpted bone structure since Christy— and most sculpted Olympian body. She’s on a whole other plane than wallpaper Kendall.

This shot just doesn’t understand any of that, unfortunately. People blame the models/celebrities for weak shots, but it’s these timid/uninspired/lazy photographers that deserve the full scorn. And we are in the age of useless fashion photographers.

“The fearlessness is really inspiring me, the way Chinese youth is so immersed in apps and digital cultures,” Jefferson Hack, cofounder of Dazed Media, told WWD. For its debut issue, the magazine featured four cover stars: singer and Chinese music royalty Leah Dou, British model Adwoa Aboah, Korean actor Yoo Ah-in and Chinese actor Zhang Yu.

"Dazed had already been working with a lot of Chinese new generation photographers and artists,” Hack shared, “and it just feels like a new era really of creative expression in China, so the timing seemed absolutely perfect and when Adrian Cheng introduced me to Mars [Liang, Yoho founder], things started falling into place because we’d been looking for a partner for quite a few years.”

Hack later hosted the magazine’s official launch party at the Old Shanghai Chamber before moving to the nightclub Le Baron, but not before he shared that at least one other country edition of the magazine was in the cards.

“The next one we are looking at is rebooting Dazed Japan,” Hack said. “We had Dazed Japan for 10 years and then the license ended and it’s been quiet for a while. It feels like the right time."
