There's only one possible response to the new Missoni girl and that is to fall instantly and unconditionally head over heels in love with her.
Nothing new in the silhouettes it is of course that early 90's boho festival grunge reinterpretation of the early to mid 70s still so beloved of NYC and which keeps on feeling right for now.
It's Missoni via Cavalli via Rodarte. But combining the conventions of grunge with a palette quite so peachy sweet is, I think, a first. And it works.
Like the Mulleavy and the Miucca princesses, the Missoni girl is far from one-dimensional - she's deep and complex and has a dark side and you feel your love for her is destined to be unrequited or doomed. An otherwordly siren who perhaps only exists in a dream.
I should like a Missoni girl for Christmas. I would sit her astride my Christmas tree and gaze at her beauty until well past twelfth night.
