Missoni S/S 2023 Milan

Ok, this collection is actually wonderful, one of the best of this directionless season. It reminds me of the sophistication of early Lee's Bottega Veneta, but in a good way. It's also not too archival nor focused on doing a major rebranding. Can't wait for the winter offering already.

A understated, but solid runway debut from Filippo Grazioli. The casting did a good job navigating those stairs in their stilettos too.

I don't know if I have to laugh because I remember that a few members here treated me like a hater because I said his appointment was a random choice. I expected it to be bad but it's definitely worse than I ever imagined.
Everything felt so amateur: it looked like a tacky gay from LA doing his first show. From that big stair and the mirror runway and that hideous soundtrack... I just don't know how you can be able to deliver such a mediocre outing when you're the CD of the most important brand of knitwear of the world. He literally picked a hideous color palette and decided to make a collection of 20+ dresses and a cardigan/top with a mini skirt. Just like Lola said at the Cavalli thread, this guy is absolutely clueless about what Missoni is about.
I should say this on the another thread but I don't mind: that casting was a choice. Damn, although a lot of the girls were beautiful it was so so random. He certainly don't have the eye for a strong line up. I felt really pissed when I saw Tindi Mar because she's too beautiful to be in such unfortunate show.

Bye bye Missoni.

It's Missoni in both prints and ease of silhouette from a general perspective, but it's very L.A. Influencer gyal so I'm not enthralled. There's 11 variations of the same side slit skirt as a mini... That, my dear sir, is very unnecessary.

His resort and menswear were great. This is a bit of a let down…
It’s pop and will look good in summery setting on IG but It lacks something. I think he has potential so I’m waiting for his Prefall and FW collections…

It’s very in the middle for me. I like missoni a lot, it’s a classic Italian brand with a really nice family drive heritage. This is at the low points really simple resort wear and high points a modern reinvention of their signature weaving.

I find the colors exceptionally bad tho, at a house like missoni you have to be better with colors. This cmyk stuff is not cutting it for me.

it feels extremely young. a little repetitive but I don’t necessarily hate it.

Missoni was sort of stuck on a loop for some years now so it definitely needed a change. let’s see if this is that change the brand needed.
it did deserve a stronger cast, always good to see Lara though.

Bye bye Missoni.

I can admit when I'm wrong.

I was WRONG.

This is worse than before. It's so flat and nothing.

It's dreadful.

It has the Missoni ease about it and the pop of colour gives it anew vibe

Ok, it's not dreadful but not nearly as exciting as I was expecting

Very São Paolo Fashion Week…from ten years ago. It’s all quite basic, the same thing over and over. I’m not at all intrigued to see what’s to come for this brand…I’m dreading it actually.

the CMYK color palette is unfortunate. hurts ma eyezzzzzz
