Well, I think she is a woman. Personally as a female who is over the age of 18, I find it to be respectful to be called a woman than a girl. There is just something undermining calling a grown female a "girl."bluedolphin said:not woman ,she's a girl!
Maybe I am not understanding something, but what about comment skadih's upset you? I want to know b/c perhaps I misinterpreted what he/she saidMr-Dale said:Seriously, get over it...it's not true...sorry but I am really really annoyed by these comments after hearing them a million times in other threads.

She is doing very well in Milan...
I DISAGREE. The media including magazines have always made white women to be more beautiful, desirable, sensual, alluring, expensive, and VAUABLE. THIS IS A MYTH. The truth is America (country which I live in) have always denigrated and exploited Asian women as prostitutes and with less worth than white women. Although this is a complete myth, you always see beautiful white women in magazines because other straight white women and gay white men idolize them. Many straight white men want Asian women!!! They never place beautiful Asian or Black or whatever race women in magazines or the media because it is a THREAT, and they can NOT identify with them!!! Therefore, you only see ugly women of color because it was engineered that way by straight white women and homosexual white men. When a fierce woman of color takes control she is a b*tch, and an anomaly or some sort, when in fact, she's just being who she is - a beautiful, fierce, sensual woman.Mr-Dale said:Well, the opinion that apparantly a lot of other Asian models are only chosen because they are Asian and not because they are beautiful. Meaning they don't represent Asia well. It's such nonsense...models are models because they are beautiful...the successful Asian models are beautiful as well I think. And even if you don't think that, you need to realise that models represent absolutely nothing. At least no countries or ethnical backgrounds. They are just pretty creatures who look good in clothes...they are not posters for China, for America, for Russia, whatever. Consumers don't even know where the girls in the mags come from or what their names are, so it doesn't matter.
Excuse my rant![]()

I think it is sometimes tough for the majority (whites) to truly understand the experiences of minorities (people of color) b/c they are not always aware of how "privledged" they are. Peggy Macintosh's [SIZE=-1]White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack discusses this. It is basic psychology those in "power" do not like to consider those who are "inferior" b/c they have no reason to. It threatens them, and why would anyone w/ the upper hand want to give up that position?? And all I just said is backed up by the Journal of Social Psychology and by a renown psychology professor who has done a lot of research on the psychology of woman and of racism.
