Model Name Pronunciation

I think basically in brazilian culture the e ending is pronounced as eee.

Like caroline trentini in english would be cay roh ly n. But I always here them and herself say cay roh leen eee

if anyone wondered: Caitriona is pronounced like 'Katrina' . She's saying it herself in the H&M films.

A few pronunciation questions

Is Jeisa like HAY-SAH? And what about that last name?!?

I'm having an argument with one of my friends, and I need it in words to prove I'm right- it's JEM-MAH Ward, and is not pronounced how it's written, right?

And Daria- is it really VHERE-BO-VEY, (though I will totally pronounce it like it's spelled:ninja: )is it not?

Thanx:flower:

ok for Jeisa, I'm pretty sure it's pronounced je-IH-zaa.

You're saying Gemma right. :)

And, I'm not really sure about Daria. I think that's how you say it though.

I don't think its pronounced giseli its just giesele like gi se l
I remember a gisele interview were she said that her name is acutally originaly Gee-seh-lee, but everyone at her agency/clients kept mispronouncing it so she just switched to being ok with "gee-sell" the way everyone pronounced it...

Yeah you're right, it's Gee-seh-lee in portuguese but apparently english speaking people say Gee-sell.

little help for fashpass:)
Kamila Szczawinska:
SZ=sh it should sounds as in word shirt
cz=ch it should sounds as in word cheque
w should sounds as English v in word vein
and now we've got a pronlem because there is a letter in her surname which exist only in Polish:) I mean it's "n" but there is a backslash above it which change it completely...unfortunately it's impossible to explain it..but i think you can pronounce it as "n",kamila won't be angry,i think;)
Ewa Witkowska
as above W should sounds as english V
E should sounds as in word empty
Anja Rubik
crea is right,it hould be pronounce as ANYA
What about Daria?
I don't know actually.she lives in Canada but her surname is still Slavic not French.Anyways i pronounce it as VERBOVY.
i hope that i helped a little...:)

Model Names: Haute and Unpronounceable

i just love how some model names are so hard to pronounce right off the bat, and how 'haute' or posh they sound... the right name can make or break a girl ^_^ sometimes it depends on one's native language, but the reality is that most of these girl's names are made up

some examples:

omahyra mota
sasha pivovarova
snejana onopka
du juan

:innocent:

Is Sasha's last name really made up?

I heard about a Russian thing where girls have to attach 'ova' to their father's last names when they get their name, hence Maria Sharapova, Anna Kournikova, etc. whereas boys just attach 'ov', like Sergei Federov.

So I always figured Sasha's father's name was Pivova.
