Models Switching Agencies

^Interesting... do you know if this affects her further placements as well or is it just 'alpha' for the moment ?

By the way, forgot in my previous post, Zenia goes now by "Zen" true to IMG's tradition of three letters names :p

She just joined them 2 days ago - I don't know what's behind that switch or if there are any plans in the making yet and from what I've heard Model Management doesn't really operate as motheragent for Daria.

I think all new Ford NY ladies will have to go trough that switch, since Ford NY doesn't come along with the team of Ford Europe or the other way round. Same to some other agencies who have offices in all fashion capitals.

Anja Rubik: Next NY - Ford NY

Anja Rubik: Next NY - Ford NY

I know, it really sucks! Never really liked Ford, prefer Next even tough it's kind of a revenge for all the girls Next has stolen from Ford and other agencies. The reason why these Next girls goes to Ford is because that former Next booker Agneiszka Ponarski left Next for Ford. She and Paul Rowland were bought by Ford. I don't think it's going to happen but if Karlie Kloss leaves Next for friggin Ford I'm gonna die!!

Just have to add, Paul Rowland and Agneiszka Ponarski has said they going to cooperate with Elite Paris and that's why the new Ford NY girls are mostly placed with Elite Paris!

Did Anja just follow her booker or were there other incentives? Quite frankly, the Agneiszka Ponarski related model movements have been more interesting and dramatic than the Paul Rowland related movements.

*Not really, someone mentioned this a few days ago, but I am still taken aback now that it has actually happened.

I fail to see how this is "awesome". Lord knows I was never a fan of Next and their ways but in this instance they're suffering in a major way. They helped build these 3 girls up from nothing to superstars, over the course of many years, and you can't compare it to them taking instant stars like Agnete and Kendra (who seem to be not working at the moment anyway).

Maybe there's something wrong with me though, everyone keeps cheering on Next's destruction yet I can't help but root for the underdog. :sideways:

Don't find it awesome either. This looks like a walkover or football game here, but it's a very serious matter between 2 agencies and seems to be more of a savange revenge from Ford due to the Meghan/Suvi story than a common placement restructuring to me. I hope the strong connection from Next NY to Mother Model Management (they have their most precious diamonds all built up by Next) helps that Rowland or whoever got the chief key for such **** and power gams will not have impact on Katie Fogarty and Karlie Kloss placements, at least. It's pointless.

Well if you look at my posts, I have not been anti-Next and if anything have asked questions to get their side of the story when there has been strong anti-Next sentiment, for example I did not assume that every model that moved to Next after the Karlie, Agnete, Kendra wave was automatically "poaching." Now I have asked, and I think that my question was deleted during a recent purge, was what is the difference between Next's recent lawsuit against Ford versus Ford's lawsuit against Next from a year or so ago? Personally, I find it all interesting, but I haven't taken sides in the matter.

One light that is coming on for me is that it is not always the agency that "builds" or "invests" in the model, rather it is the agent / booker, so changing agencies may really be an act of disloyalty if a model is following her booker. Also, if the agency gets a commission and models are billed for a lot of the expenses incurred on their behalf, then when the model walks away all of the parties are whole. I can't believe that these contracts are so easily broken (even considering that lawsuits have been files here and there), if the agency had not already recouped their expenses / investment or the model is not still on the hook to pay back expenses made on her behalf while she was with them even after she has left.

ETA:
Is Agneiszka Ponarski Karlie's booker?

shouldn't next employ some armed guards to prevent more raids against them? they now seem capable of losing everything, agents, bookers, models, coffee machines, office supplies...

I find all of this idiotic.
so you all think Anja is competent enough to run a magazine and push her modeling career to the top but not enough to make a descision regarding her own agency.

i think booker loyalty is admirable.

These girls are not stolen, they are smart career minded girls, not 13 year old clueless kids. They're not eggs, they can't be "poached".

When these girls leave it is because they feel their career could be better handled elsewhere, same as any of us switch jobs or move apartments.

lets all stop with the assumptions.

holy @%#$ NEXT is going down hard, they better hold on to Kloss with all their might.
