I tried to do Dorian Leigh, but her covers will take some time. I think I'll go on to Twiggy and Lauren Hutton and Janice Dickenson and Jean Patchet and Verushka and Wilhelmina and then circle back around to Dorian.

Shut up right now. Seriously? How can a legend like her only have 4 covers? SMH.

If you think about the fact that 8 years passed between when the first Vogue cover featuring a black model appeared (Donyale Luna, British Vogue in 1966) and the second Vogue cover featuring a black model appeared (Beverly Johnson, American Vogue in 1974) then it's not at all shocking. Iman was hot at a time when black models weren't featured on many magazine covers, period, let alone the cover of Vogue.
