I think it's 18 covers, with 15 where Liu is on the front page and 3 where she is on the foldout.
Yes, correct. However made a mistake it should be 14 for FRONT not 15.
What do you mean with "front"?
Me too... But on his post you can see that are more than 3 foldout covers!
Being on FOLD-OUT in the sense that models didn't grace the actual cover.
Her
true foldouts are only four covers out of 18. That's where the 14 comes from being on front. She/her shot was on the foldout of these four issues:
Vogue China March 2010
Vogue China September 2011
Vogue Italia September 2014
Vogue Japan April 2015
Yep, she has eight foldouts but still manage to
front four actual cover. Those four would be in the 'front' batch while the other four would be in the 'foldout' pile. Hence she appeared only four times on the fold-out of the cover.
Didn't mean to confuse anyone but I add foldout simply as a DESCRIPTION, to give more information of that respective issue (like OG/MG, reprint, multiple covers, etc.).
Also, I included those stats and details to offer interesting observations and fun fact.
For instance over half of Liu Wen's covers she had to share (MG 11x), but the majority she landed front outweighing the con. Not too bad.
She was shot by Inez & Vinoodh four times for the cover but outside of that, they don't work together at all. Conversely, in the past she worked with Mert & Marcus and McDean the most but no Vogue covers from them. Obviously this is situational and by chance but one would think that had happen already. Then again Liu's campaigns are heavily M&M/McDean... as for covers she gets to work with I&V, Lindbergh and Meisel. A balance I guess.
Anyway 2020 is sealed. Glad she gets a cover annually.
