A young model that has fascinated Valentino
She's the face of the designer's new parfume, <<Rock'n Rose>> that was presented in Rome, in the designer's forty five aniversary celebration.
Known as <<Baby Kate>> for her look-a-like with Kate Moss, she was born in Sweden ninteen years ago and was discovered with forteen, when she participated in a horse contest.

On her ninteen years, Mona Johannesson is one of the models that steps with force in the international circuit. Born in Aneby, Sweden, and pasionate for horses, she was discovered by an agent when she was forteen years old. Until she finished her studies she decided that she was only going to do fashion shows in a local level, so then she could move to London, where she inmediately called the atention of the magazines and fashion photographers. She has worked with the best: Chanel, Nina Ricci, Zac Posen and Kenzo. Valentino has been the last one of the big ones that counted with this young beauty as the new face of his new fragance, <<Rock'n Rose>>, directed to a modern and provocative woman, that presented in Rome, for his forty five years aniversary. Known in the fashion world as <<Baby Kate>> because of her look-a like with Kate Moss (in a photoshoot in Sweden she amused some of the famous british model's poses, and there her nickname was born), she claims her own personality.

What means for you that Valentino, fashion's emperor of elegance and <<glamour>>, chose you as the new face of his new fragance?
It's a big honor for me, it can't be surpassed. It's a dream to do something like this.

How would you descrive Valentino's fashion?
Valentino's fashion is very glamorous, he makes wonderful dresses. Clothe like this makes you feel like a princess. It's absolutely perfect.

You're called <<Baby Kate>> because of your look-a-like with Kate Moss, do you think you look a lot like her?
I don't think so, i've never seen it, but of course it's flattering to be compared with someone like her. She's very goodlooking, she's doing very good, but you still want to be known as who you are. I want people to know me for Mona, no for someone who <<looks like...>>. I want to follow my own way.

You're only ninteen years old and you work with the biggest ones. What are your dreams?
I want to work as much as i can and with the best ones. That's basically my dream.

The best and the worst of the profession you chose?
I love it because you meet many people. It's incredible to be part of something like this. But at the same time is very hard to travel that much, you don't have too much free time to be with your family and friends, and that can be hard sometimes.

A model always needs to be beautiful for her work. What are your beauty secrets?
(Laughs). There's nothing really special. You always have to clean your face very good. Make-up destroys your skin and you need to clean it and have it always hydrated. For other side, i'm skinny by nature and i have never had problems with diets, i eat what i want. And even when it looks weird on a model, i don't like salads. I don't even go to the gym, but i have a farm with horses and everytime i go there i ride horses, i go out to the nature. That's my exercise.

How would you describe you, how are you?
Is hard to describe yourself because i never think how i am, but i think i'm a very positive and happy person.

Do you have a boyfriend?
Yes I have.

And he understands your work, that makes you travel continuously?
Yes, he understands.
