Not being a man I tend to think in stereotypes about the types of women men go crazy for and I may have it all wrong. That beign the case, if I were a man, I'd go crazy over Monica Vitti, muc more so than all the Monica Bellucis, Angelina Jolies, Catherine Zeta-Jones of the world: she has that "sauvage", uncapturable look that makes you want to hunt her.

this is what insomnia leads to:uncontrolled scanning-activity...well,it was time for some vitti anyway.(the magazines of those times were so huge that i often had problems to get them on my scanner)

"jous de france" 24th nov 1962 "l´art de séduire-monica vitti-il ne suffit pas d´être belle".monica talks about her latest film and how she proved herself artistically in a non antonioni_film:les quatres verités-le lievre et la tortue

e ancora una volta la vitti (it was a long night,obviously).the quality of the pics is rather bad,but i have to defend my scanner in this case,since those magazines are old and the original quality isn´t much better.it was also hard to cut them out of the articles.i hope you enjoy them anyway.

caption under the first pic:this bohemienne blonde?monica,happy to live on her balcony and under the sun of rome at breakfast time.
caption nr.2:she has a unique collection : old watches/clocks.
caption3:she loves osier,wood,glass and she doesn´t hesitate to add,like here, with this lampshade,a note of "op-art".
i´m sorry for the poor quality.but most of the pics were rather small and i couldn´t obtain a better quality.

source:bazar novembre 1971 (a yugoslavian magazine) a friend of mine translated the title and the captions for me.the title says something like "the new vitti" and the pictures are from the film "le coppie"/"the couples"...

there´s a short article inside with the title :"monica comica"
it talks (once more)about the fact that even though monica has become the symbol of allienation and incommunability her real nature tends rather to laughter and gaiety and that she will prove her comic talent in an upcoming tv-show (i have posted several pictures from thuis show a while ago).

Absolutely gorgeous pictures! I love those from the "Monica Comica" article (what a cute title ^^), it's nice to know that in real life she's more happy and upbeat.

agree agree about the title nel !!í´m reading her biography right now -monica vitti by cristina borsatti...so far i´ve only read 40 pages,but she emerges more and more as an absolute fascinating woman.very free-spirited but also contradictory.she said about herself once "i make people laugh,which is a great gift,but i live in fear." and she also said that the role which is closest to her is giuliana from "il deserto rosso" .
