MOTIVATION for drinking water!!!

hey what would happen if you drink too much water? would it flush out all the minerals (or whatever that good stuff in the body is)?

^ I wouldn't think so.
I've read that you should not drink more than 1½ - 2 litre / day. Otherwise
it might cause bladder problems later on.

It is not much but my motivation for drinking water is: Soft, dewy skin which equate less foundation and concealer. Actually I do not wear foundation at all...frankly I think it is more because I really have not master the art of foundation, so I will continue to drink H2O to compensate...:).

I have one way to drinl lot´s of water.

I get a large plastic bottle of water and carry it around the house with me, drinking large sips at a time. The more you drink, the biggest is the urge to drink, and a bottle is 1,5 lt so it´s the recommended, although when you start to drink you end up drinking about 2 bottles a day. :)

Fleur137, it would be bad if you drank like 5 litres a day because you end up flushing all the sodium from your body and therefore damaging your brain.
That is why some ecstasy takers ended up dying, not really because of the ecstasy but because of all the water they drank.
Ehat is advised, in situations where the person has an enourmous urge to drink lots of water (like sports, a really hot day) is to drink isotonic drinks with minerals, so that the body can replace all the lost minerals. :)

GoldenButterfly, i didn´t know that about the blatter problems, thanks! :)

I've never read that as a concern. I believe as long as you use the rest restroom when, uhmm, you have to go  you're fine. I could be wrong, but...

My doc said the human body can handle 15 Liters per day (spread out of course)... so I dunno about the bladder problems really. never heard that actually... I drink 5 liters per day and have been told that's fine. :innocent:

Water fills you up so you won't eat as much=my motivation.

I eat too much.

anyone know how much models drink on average???

itd be interesting to compare...

In the health journal I read they recommended 3 - 4 liters water/day at most and that's if you exercise regularly.
Drinking too much water puts pressure on the urinary system.

Then again, I wouldn't be able to drink more than 4 liters, that would mean
that I would have to stay at home drinking water all day :p

I once read that some model (don´t recall her name) drank 5 liters a day!!!

I think that to drink 3 liters a day you have either to stay at home or work in a place where you can go to the toilet every 15 minutes, because you simply cannot drink that much and wait! :p

i used to drink 2.4 litres each day. 2.4 as i drank 4 600mL bottles. 2 at school and 2 at home. but then that was what i used to do...now i really only average about 2 bottles a day...sad i know...

That's my motivation plus everytime I'm hungry but I know it's just cause of boredom I drink water. Plus I do tennis and I alwauys have one with me.

this thread makes me wanna drink more water i only drink like 1-1.5 l on average a day. but the other say i drank three lites and i felt really sick and dizzy, coud this be that is too much water for me? i try to drink more but at school its not very practical to keep going to the toilet.

oups fleur you have to watch out!

if you drink too much water, you can actually experience water intoxication--which can be fatal. you usually hear about marathoners and kids taking ecstasy getting it, but my friend almost died from it.

as for the motivation part...some dermatologists say it's good to stay hydrated because dehydration puts you in a proinflammatory state (bad for the skin, etc).

:flower:

I drink tons of water every day, though I never keep track of how much. I think that's what accounts for my pimple-free skin- and that means a lot when you're a teenager with hormones raging. :p

As a person who drinks a lot of water, I haven't noticed any of the detriments. But, as Erin mentioned, a person must use a restroom... not that they wouldn't anyways. :D
