The good thing about older TV shows is they were shot on film, not video. So it's possible to create beautiful new HD transfers of the source. I don't think we'll see as many blurays of TV shows from the 80s and 90s, the image sourced from videotape is much duller.
Yes indeed...I remember seeing her playing the Princess in the original Pink Panther movie at a very young age; I thought she was the most beautiful woman on earth!!
I hope this is the right place to start this discussion, but I figure it was more Star Style than Entertainment Spot. If it's not I'm sure a mod will move it. Anyway discussion of favourite movie costumes. Those ones you've just sat there and coveted or drooled over or have taken inspiration from.
Moulin Rouge. The red dress. For me the ultimate movie dress. I just think it's utter perfection. I love it.
Moulin Rouge. The Gray skirt suit. God I love this, it's a sexy, impractical version of the perfect side-saddle habit lol!
Atonement. The Green Dress. I think it's possible you need to be Keira's shape to wear this but it's beautiful, so fragile and exquisite.
Almost Famous. Penny Lane's coat. I love pretty much all of her wardrobe in the movie but this coat really got me. I searched for so long to find one when the movie came out!
Ocean's Eleven. Brad Pitt's wardrobe. They all looked great but I loved the slight kitch twist they added to Brad's wardrobe, it sort of boarded on being being bad but was teamed with such exquisitely cut suits that it worked.
Can we add television shows to the mix? Because I simply love the costumes which the characters sport on the show. Especially love the Crawley sisters outfits.
Two other movies I though had really great modern costumes were Elizabethtown and Bridesmaids. I posted about Bridesmaids in another thread but I thought I would share it on this thread as well. I really loved Claire's simple, boho, yet classy style throughout the film Elizabethtown. And as for Bridesmaids, besides it being a super funny film I thought that the characters pretty much all had impeccable style.
But first here are some photo's from Elizabethtown
