You're absolutely right! Much much more popular! The python was a limited edition and about three times more expensive...

It was the Fendi advertsising bag for bag, it dosen't take much more to make it an 'It-bag'.
I think it's enough to use the bag in the campaign, same with Dior dice bag, no celebs were particullary carrying it, but it was buzzed in London for being an 'It bag'.

J.Lo got her bag around the same time as other celebs I think, beides her was the python, the leather one's proved to be way more popular, but this is just my opinion.

Umm! I'm not a big fan of J.Lo but I have to admit that Fendi advertising campaign was working though.

And the reason the leather ones are more popular than the python ones that because they are more affordable compare to the python and most people can afford the leather one but not the python. So you can't compare the popularity of these 2 styles if they are so much different in price tag.

To be honset I am not very optimistic about the other designers..Gucci bags are worrying me...YSL are in another planet...safest bet is Fendi and Chloe..I am loving the Fendi Spy bag and the Chloe paddingtons...and of course Balenciaga bags will always be loyal to planet Earth

I also agree that the novak will rise in popularity. Especially the black coming out. The Stam, if it is ever repeated, will definitely continue to be popular (though its continued production is so speculative at this stage). In terms of new bags, I predict the Chloe Edith (below far left), especially in Whiskey colour will be popular. I think Whiskey will become the new popular colour for Chloe paddingtons.

Sorry, I am not sure of that specific name, but each bag in that ss/06 collection has a female name, so it's similar to the Edith, Gladys genre.

Do you like those bags on the right and middle? Originally I didn't, but I'm now coming around to the more neutral shades for next year and they are really growing on me. To me they seem to mark a real shift away from anything of late..ie. pretty or slouchy or hoboish. They are a bit newer in direction with a much less 'organic' feel. I'd be interested in what others think!
