I wondered which bags are gonna be the must have of spring/summer 2006 ans which colours?

i dunno, but i have seen the "resort" stuff from gucci and lv and others and they look like cheap canvas totes and straw granny bags. check out bazaar magazine...

I think that lilac and mustard yellow will be big colors for S/S 06. It looked like most designers used a very neutral nude palette of colors, and accented with lilac and mustard yellow.

If you havent got the McQueen Novak bag .. I think I saw some new versions ... you cant go wrong with leather

For me it's the lilac balenciaga and lanvin vintage kansas, and prabably a spy. I haven't seen anything else I like, but I haven't seen all that much. I'm hoping thats it, I've spent way too much on bags this season. There are LOTS of shoes that I love for s/s though

I was flipping through some magazine and came across a page of "it" bags ... there was also a page on bags with gray on them... as gray is a huge color this season.

The Stam was there... that new Ralph Lauren birkin-esque bag was on there.. uhhh Some Tod's bag that I've never seen before... and a Roger Vivier bag that was gorgeous...


I think the spy will go through spring as well as the balenciaga... perhaps the Stam... I dunno(I know I've said otherwise here)

I really think that some of Marc Jacobs' bags will be popular.. some of his less expensive ones even.. There's a cute satchel with a blue/gray/pink floral pattern that a few members here have...

I also agree that the novak will rise in popularity. Especially the black coming out. The Stam, if it is ever repeated, will definitely continue to be popular (though its continued production is so speculative at this stage). In terms of new bags, I predict the Chloe Edith (below far left), especially in Whiskey colour will be popular. I think Whiskey will become the new popular colour for Chloe paddingtons.

I think its kind of a tough call. I still see Mulberry and Bottega having big followings in the comming season (both have been on the rise in populatiry, but have not really gotten to the point it seemed they were going to yet), and Balenciaga does not seem to be going anywhere. I think we will see people clinging to classic black bags a lot, like we did this fall, so anyone who does a basic black bag will do well. I am sure Lanvin will do some covetables, but nothing huge. I think, like was the case for fall, there will not be just one bag to own, there will be several. Of course, we will have to see what celebs carry in comming months, because that seems to define everything now a days.
