I have decided that I want a LV Medium Looping bag. To avoid my previous experience with the DIOR bag, I decided to purchase from eBay from MyPoupette RECOMMENDED SELLERS only.

So, I began looking...there are a couple of Angie's RECOMMENDED SELLERS selling two versions of the bag. One bag shows NO SEAM on the bottom and the other shows a seam. Presumably the one without the seam would have the monogram upside down on one side as it is one continuous piece of canvass.

Before contacting Angie, I called a LV boutique and asked about the bag. They said that the medium looping DOES have a seam and that the monogram on both sides are right side up -- just as the front and back. So, I emailed her about the discrepancy.

She wrote back a very short note saying that the bag was made both ways. I thought this was strange, so I called 866-VUITTON and spoke to one of their "specialist" who confirmed what the boutique told me yesterday - MONOGRAM RIGHT SIDE UP - SEAM ON BOTTOM.

I wrote back to Angie who said, "You can believe her if you wish, but I have owned both versions." I laughed out loud because, certainly, I am going to believe LV over her!

I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this as I am quite confused.

Thanks!

I wouldnt trust anything on ebay even if they were platinum sellers and had the mypoupette.com recommendation. Always purchase it from a boutique or somewhere reputable. :flower:

I had the same concern.. but maybe at one time (long time ago) they made the bag like that.. look at this item:

Mypoupette said it was authentic after I emailed them... and the seller swears by it..so I dunno...

Yes, the ones WITH the SEAM are REAL, says Louis Vuitton.

I also asked about them changing the style and she said that they haven't been making the looping bag for that long to change it.

I would have had more respect for Angie if she would have said, "Oh, my...it is fake. I'll email the seller." But, to try and convince me that LV was WRONG about their very own bag was disturbing, to say the least.

And, yes, I know that the only way to be 100% sure is to purchase from the boutique. However, not everyone can just drop $700 on a bag. The cost to replace the handle from LV is $71.00 and it takes 3-4 weeks. I can save quite a bit of money purchasing a used bag and replacing the handle.

Thanks for the pic!

Ive seen lv bags that have the same piece of fabric all the way around (no stitching divide).. I personally thought this bag was FAKE b/c its a mini-looping and it does that.

I am not saying to not take the word of LV sales people..but I could have sworn I saw the looping bag with no stitching divide (shown)... hey.. I was planning on going to LV this weekend... if I go..I will ask to see the bag and let you know... most of their associates here in nyc have their noses in the air.. so Ill see what I can do LOL

I suggest you purchase your bag at a LV boutique, since the majority of "authentic" on ebay are fake! I also read that fakes take 80% or more of listings on ebay. reguarding your dior, the chances of ebay really filing a complaint agains your buyer is very unlikely, since ebay can take the listing fee and profit and run, not literally.

Thanks, Missy44x. If you have a chance to ask, that would be great. I spoke to two different people at the corporate customer service department and both told me that it's definitely two pieces.

I appreciate your help and thoughts!

It was on the mini looping and the medium looping right? And no problem I will let u know as soon as I go...

Hey dallas.. I think the LV store might have misinformed you about the stitching being (divided) present at the bottom of the bag... if you take a look at eluxurys website (they sell authentic lv) they will show you a pic of an LV medium looping bag... look at the side.. the LV is upside down..that means they are using one piece all the way around therefore its impossible to have the stitching (divide) at the bottom of the bag... see:

I spoke with Lisa from 866 LV and Kelly from eluxury and they said that the medium looping bag is like the pic I posted (with LVs upside down) on one side. :flower:

After seeing your picture, I again called 866-VUITTON. You won't believe what they told me.

The pic on eLuxury is wrong! They are going to make them remove it. I argued with her about the monogram being upside down on one side and so she went and got the bag and a "leather specialist" said that the logo should be right side UP on both sides with a seam in the middle of the bottom of the bag.

I questioned her several time about the pic from eLuxury and asked if it was fake, she stammered and said, no that they were an authorized deal, but they don't know why they have the wrong pic.

I now suspect that MyPoupette was correct in saying that the bag was produced both ways. I love LV and will continue to purchase their products, but I am a little disappointed that their phone specialists aren't a little more knowledgeable about the products. At first she put me on hold for a long time and came back and said there wasn't a pic of the medium looping on eLuxury! I laughed and told her that I was LOOKING AT IT RIGHT NOW. She was pretty flustered, but, in the end, answered the question.

Funny, I still don't feel confident either way! I think I'll chose another LV bag to purchase.

Thanks to all!

personally, i do NOT trust mypoupette at all. but that's just my opinion

Dallas lol dont ya hate when u get diff info from diff reps... this is what I believe...

One piece is used in making the MEDIUM looping bag... and two pieces for the LARGE looping bag.. I guess it depends on what size... I think the pic on eluxury is fine b/c LV owns ELUXURY.... check out the other post in handbags (one I linked u) and check out what Louis Vuitton Lover says...

I also dont believe mypoupette ... the gal does spend a lot of time researching lv and stoping counterfiet sales...but she also is making money off ppl..by charging them for questions and booklets.. I mean its not her job to do this..but still.. seems very fishy...

Neither do I :flower: I know that her and her minions (sp?) of people exchange feedback after they pretend to buy from eachother. It's ridiculous

WOW! I didn't realize MyPoupette was such a fraud! It's so sad because there is a demand for LV on the secondary market. There are certainly plenty of wealthy people who discard their bags after a season or two and people who just tire of their bags and want to get rid of them.

I so wish that there was a legitimate place to purchase these goods - and not at the local level as in consignment stores. There are so many around the country that you cannot get a decent selection at any one reseller.

I love designer bags, but cannot always afford the hefty price tags. Don't laugh, but next I want a Chanel. Now that one I may have to save up for. I have never seen so many bags on eBay before! I can't tell one from another - well, I wouldn't know WHAT to look for anyway. I want a casual one - like a drawstring that I can use everyday that won't look too dressy. We'll see...

By the way, eLuxury wrote back and said that LV was wrong and that they are owned by MHLV...blah...blah...blah. We'll see if the pic changes anytime in the near future. Also, someone named Antonio confirmed that the bag WAS made both ways! AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG...

Thanks again all!

i dont trust MY POUPETTE either at all!!!
you want the real deal, try and make it to the boutique. i dont trust anyone else but my own instinct and knowledge :innocent:

And to think that I was the only one

I dont trust it either. I have a few LV purses and out of curiousity I checked some of their pictures. I have a real canvas Large Bucket bag from the LV boutique. I compared it to the picture from Mypoupette and their picture was questionable.

I think it's all a cover anyway. Just so they can peddle their fake bags. Granted, some of the sellers do sell authentic bags, a lot of them don't.
