Hey, anyone here been wondering what ex-AsFour-member Kai's new collection looks like? ...No? Ah well...

All I have to say about this is: 1.) It's better than I expected. 2.) That's not really saying much. 3.) It's very, very obvious that Kai is German.

some of the pieces are really nice. a few are rather shapeless though like the men's shirts. love her evening wear

I find some ideas from this amazing and others you can see the As Four influence.

Love that sort of 'double' jodhpur. also the mens tuxedo shirts reminds me of Impossible_Princess saying she wanted to where one as a dress in the Help Me Find....thread. V. interesting. Some of the shapes are quite unique and nice but i do get the overall feelign that this lacks a general direction other than creating unique shapes.

ah, fresh from the show. been wanting to see kai kuhne's collection. pretty nice, thanks droogist.

The coats are wonderful, I love the dresses and that first pair of pants looks superb. I think it is better than As Four...

Never really was a fan of asfour and this stuff is pretty similar... ...no wonder...... seriously, aside from a few interesting shapes, I really don't see anything interesting about this collection.....

LOL at droogists last comments, and I'd like to echo them (except the last one, because I simply don't know what makes this German, so I can't comment on that ).

One thing that I really liked were those long shirts, that look like dresses. I don't want to say he took a hint from Alaia there, but they are very similar. :innocent:

P.S. I'd like to vomit on all the beige. That's why I hate American fashion - it's ALMOST ALL about trends, and it's so easy to see, it's pathetic.

the day wear is straight out of a BAD 80s catalogue shopping pages
evening is better but still meaningless
i wonder why some people bother going through all this trouble to present bland collections, makes (very) little sense to me..

thanks for the topic droog ;)

^what,Lena,said :D

Faust,I think what droogist was meaning was the fact that it's very safe and conservative...much like the Jil Sander's and Strenesse's. Although, there are alot of indie and rising German talents that might try and contradict that notion. I hope so.

To call your brand 'Myself' sounds pathetic and very sentimental

The trends are not even hidden by a sheer layer.. ugh, bad bad bad. The dog in the background however is absolutely adorable. On a more serious note again, I like the ensembles on Monique Olsen. Though that last one with the tulle skirt exudes a bit of a Bruno Pieters feeling.

Yeah that's pretty much what I meant :D ...I'm not suggesting that German fashion is conservative by definition, but I think this collection is unexpectedly (for me, at least) representative of a certain look that's dominated the German market for years. tricotineacetat described it rather well in the Strenesse thread.... See all that weird matronly beige and cream silk georgette stuff from the first half (and there's plenty more where that came from, I left out a big chunk)? I think that at this very moment a good percentage of the older female population of Germany is walking around wearing pretty much exactly that.

...cute avatar, perlefine! ^_^

Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation to you and Scott :flower:

I clicked onto this thread expecting and wanting to hate this collection.. but I actually think its quite nice

i pretty much agree with droogist and i sincerely hope that no one is foolish enough to fund another show like this next season...

**give the money to someone with TALENT~!!!...please!!!...

Whats quite funny and also weird, is that K.A.I. actually used some of the fabric that he made for a previous AsFour collection. The last he did with them. Look at pic "15". I actually have a piece of that fabric at home that I got as a present.
