Myspace Style Appreciation Thread

Love her style!

Has anyone found any other fashion people out there on MySpace?

if I started this thread and said this is Hayley, she's 18, her mum is a crack wh*re, she never knew her father, works at mcdonalds and only wears clothes she finds out of skips is that going to make her more worthy of style appreciation?!:ninja:

Yes, actually. Triumph over adversity is pretty commendable in my book.

Admiring a girl this young for her pricey style and Mario Testino internship is akin to admiring George W. Bush for his Yale diploma, if you get my drift.

Maybe someone should start a discussion about fashion and entitlement elsewhere, as this thread is threatening to get way off track.

just letting everyone know that her father is in the music industry. He does A&R for RCA. i have an article from Nylon when she was in The Tints that says it so hopefully that will clear things up. i'll scan the article when i get the chance.

i agree with you 1karina1 on what you have said. money does not neccesarily give you style. there are girls at my school who own 4 story yachts and still end up wearing abercrombie. I appreciate the style of those who are not celebrities; many actresses and singers have 300 page style threads, however their clothes are being picked out for them by a stylist usually, and as a teenager i doubt they had as much style as these internet celebrities. not to mention that their outfits probably cost quadruple the amount. just something to think about. i think style should be celebrated for what it is, not where it comes from or how much it costs.

Precisely. Why's it such a hard concept for people to get their heads around? You can have all the money in the world and all the designer clobber in the world...but it certainly doesn't buy you style.

And HBoogie, i did not start the discussion on style and entitlement in this thread..:innocent:

Where can you find her music? Whats the bands name again?

yay another rich girl living off daddy's money to buy designer shoes! just what the world needs, really.

she's haRley viera-newton and alice, alex and charlotte dellal are her cousins. they are of brazilian descent. the dellals' mother andrea was a successful model in the '70s and they live in england. alice is a beautiful party-girl turned photographer and was in the london-scene-themed burberry ads this fall. charlotte is a successful shoe designer. [alex is their brother a partier] their dad is a shipping or something mogul. harley's dad is in music. harley and clara were in the tints and clara's dad is flea balzary - guitarist for the red-hot chilli peppers whose wife and mother of his baby sunny be-bop is THE FRANKIE RAYDER. so before harley was famous with tfs or anyone for that matter she had connections to kate moss [was/is frankie rayder's best friend], the richest of london, and the richest of LA [who don't really matter cause LA has never been known for style until cory kennedy]. i am probbaly missing a lot but harley is no normal girl and [although i don't mean to bash] i have been her mysapce friend since 2004 and her new ventures on thecobrasnake are just her filling her absence of successful band / attention she used to get / she lives in new york finally rather than la so she's taking advantage of the opp she has to become a 'style icon' / by the way she has lost LOADS of weight / her face isn't pretty either, sorry

aye aye i have to make a disclaimer saying i absolutely aaaaaaadddddddoooooorrrreeeeeee cory kennedy

Do you have pics of before she lost weight? Har har
I dont know, I like her style but I dont understand why all these girls from LA/NYC become famous just because of it

I predict...2007: we will have about 50 threads in the Star Style section devoted to these girls..... and the debate on what exactly they are famous for will rage on and on and on..... happy days ppl, happy days...

i think she's kinda cute, i wish i had a body like that *sigh*. she doesn't look trashed in every photo either, makes a nice change! anyone got any other 'myspace' style appreciation for diff people?

Interesting world. I have no idea about these things and these people. She does have a cool vibe. That's what gives her more style. And forgive me if I sound crazy, but what is cobrasnake?

Style is style whether you're poor or rich, black or white or anything in between ( ). Yes, Harley has an advantage in that her family are well-connected but why is that a reason to hate? If you're into photography and have the opportunity to intern with Testino, are you seriously going to turn that down? And likewise, if you're Testino, are you seriously going to let someone intern with you who has no interest in photography, has no talent and no enthusiasm for the job? I don't think he would stand for that crap, regardless of how rich or how close he is to her parents!

But envy is a very ugly trait :innocent:

It just makes me laugh....if I started this thread and said this is Hayley, she's 18, her mum is a crack wh*re, she never knew her father, works at mcdonalds and only wears clothes she finds out of skips is that going to make her more worthy of style appreciation?!:ninja:
hey---dramarama!!...
who is hating???...certainly not me...!
seems like YOU are ...
i just pointed out the facts...
that she is VERY privileged and VERY fortunate and not everyone is...

and imo...
someone who is disadvantaged and still manages to pull off great style (or even takes the time to CARE about style) is actually worthy of more admiration than someone who has everything handed to them...
but i would have thought that was obvious...no?...

and to get an internship with testino would mean 'connections'...and frankly ---in the fashion industry...no one turns down having a cute girl running around...whether they have any talent or not is irrelevant at the age of 16 as an intern....
whether they are cute and their parents are well connected is of far more relevance...

it's not like earning an academic scholarship through intelligence, talent or hard work...

anyway...everyone gets their 15 minutes these days...
i guess it's her turn...
how tall is she?...
seems like she should be 'modelling' any minute now...
heatherette here we come!!!...

^_^

I am every bit as cynical about this, but this is just the new reality, these people will be the new style icons. Why should celebs, who are celebs for no reason (the Jessica Simpsons of the world) have a thread, and everybody is ok with it?
After reality-tv celebs, there are now MySpace celebs and half celebs. And not only style 'icons'. There are people who have fans on MySpace for no real reason, for example in music, they 'Professional Groupies' (people who have a little connection with some bands) have fangirls:huh:

So my prediction for 2007: There will be a new section in 'Starstyle' on tFS, for all our MySpace 'celebs' , who ever said you have to be on tv to be called famous;)

^Hey - I wasn't saying it was a bad development! I'm just amused at where this is all heading..... I'm all for the 'everyone will be famous for 15 mins' thing......

Don't worry, I don't know what cobrasnake is.
But I do know who Cory Kennedy is. I get extra brownie points :flower:
