Nail Polish

i guess i could go for some silver if metallics are in..

but, i definitely find myself drawn to the more matte/less sparkly shiny nail polishes..

what do you guys think of grey nail polish?
i bought a bottle at urban outfitters... the brand is L.A. Girl or something like that...
i kind of like it but the polish i got is pretty cheap and chips easily..
i'm thinking it won't really be a lasting color choice...

^Try China Glaze's Recycle if you can find it. The quality is really good with that brand, and it's a great gray.

Gray is huge for this fall though.

oooh i just looked it up....
it does look like a good grey...

much darker than the one that i already bought...

does anyone know where to buy china glaze? i don't think i've ever seen it in a salon/store....

**i just found it on amazon.com...

Hey ChrissyM, I suggest head2toebeauty.com or 8ty8.com for buying polish. They have the lowest prices (China Glaze is 2.99 there rather than the usual almost $6).

China Glaze is also sold at Sally's Beauty Supply (with a Beauty Card China Glaze is always $3.25 rather than $5.99) and Ulta.

Sorry scivolare, Ulta doesn't sell Zoya. They are available online though, I ordered last time from enailsupply.com and they were quite quick. But if you order from the Zoya website I think there is some special discount code or something. I'm not sure, but if you google it i'm sure you'll find it.

what nailpolish looks most like rouge noir by chanel? I can't find that one anywhere and it would be too expensive anyway...

I love that colour in #404. It's not something I think I'd ever consider but now I think I have to have it ^_^ I'm also looking to buy my first blue nail polish, but I'm not sure which shade yet. Maybe a navy.

I love OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark!

I seem to be having trouble applying polish without chipping almost right afterwards. It's quite frustrating when you're about to head out for the night and managed to screw up your nails!

So what's everyone's routine for applying nail polish so that it doesn't chip so easily? Do you use a separate brush? Topcoat afterwards? Air dry, a fan?

Seche Vite Fast-Dry Top Coat. Dries my nails in under a minute.

ChrissyM, I'm wearing Recycle on my nails today. It's one of my favorites. I had to get mine from Ebay though.

Any idea who makes this gold metallic colour Beyonce is wearing in this pic?

(taken from the Beyonce thread).

Its not nail polish, they are actually gold foil, one company that sells them is Minx. There are also acrylic nails with gold foil suspended in them that give the same effect and I have seen them in mags too but I forget the name of the company. It might be the same one though.

I'm looking to try a grey shade (either light or darker) for this fall but can't decide ! Does anybody have any favourites? I hear Sephora by OPI's Metro Chic is very popular. I'm also interested in Social Climber. Has anybody tried OPI's Moon over Mumbai or Time-less is More? They are a bit different because they are lighter than Metro Chic but I am open to options. I don't want a grey that has very noticable shimmer. I want a nice matte color. thanks!!

wow thank you! yes it helped :flower: will try to tae a decision between those shades

I also use the Seche Vite Topcoat- almost had a heart attack when I realized the price (around $10)...I do my nails at least once, if not twice a week, so this was a lot for me to pay. But let me tell you, best top coat. Seriously! Dries super fast and gives a great shine and keeps polish from chipping for a good 5-7 days, if not longer. In my experience, at least. Others might have had different experiences.

^poshe topcoat is amazing, voted over and over by beauty eds everywhere as the best top coat. it dries instantly and it creates a beautiful coating on the nail to protect it for a week or so. it's also free of a lot of chemicals
