Nail Polish

I'm looking for a nice mint green colour...does anyone know what brand makes some?

MK's, that red looks great! Can anyone else recommend me very bright red nailpolish? We don't have Sportgirl..

oh & I forgot to mention that the MAC mint green that was mentioned on the previous page is sold out. So any mint green besides that one? :D

I am so challenged when it comes to applying nail polish! Sometimes my painting job is so bad I give up in frustration and wipe the whole thing off with remover... What is the trick to getting a smooth finish? Do you start painting from the centre or from one side? Do you put a lot on with one stroke or a little at a time?

that Chanel orange fizz is TDF!! as for tips ^^ I say use a basecoat, the key is putting thin layers and waiting for them to dry before putting on the next coat and usually i do one stroke in the middle then each side.

Another thing is i find that 'better' brands such as OPI, Essie, Chanel etc., clump less and are easier to apply!! also always finish with a good top coat..

:innocent: Couldn't help myself, so I got (everything from LCN):
-Super Hardener base coat
-Nail Hardener top coat
-diamond base coat Luxurious Lavander 148:wub: (but it can be used as normal nail polish too)
-Sunset orange 260
-Red Carnation 106:heart:

No more nail polishes till fall!:ninja:

Nailpolish reviews and inspirational colors!

BonBon2+copy.jpg

The nail polish is called Bon Bon from Orly Sugar Coated Spring Collection. the first layer is pretty sheer and gave me a weird "I'm freezing!!" purplish gray color, but the second layer and third makes the color more opaque. It's still not 100% opaque but OH MY LORD, isn't it the longest lasting nail polish evaaaaaaah.

I applied them 7 days ago, no base coat no top coat and today they haven't chipped. I am not kidding, I ran errands, washed dishes with hot water (not warm, mind you..), I even swam, and yet Bon Bon are still looking brand new on my nails.

Climax2.jpg

Climax, from Rimmel. The application is very smooth, it dries fairly quick and the finish is matte. First layer is already opaque, it's not sheer whatsoever so I was very satisfied on that fact, the only duds was probably that you need to wait until the first layer dries COMPLETELY to apply the second one.

MDTK4.jpg

OPI My Daddy's The King came out in the Princess Charming Collection, a gorgeous warm pink that would suits almost any complexion.
MDTK has a pearl finish, and although I love this color alot, I have to say the problem I always have with shimmer/pearl polishes also occured with this one. The first two application were a little streaky but the third layer was finally able to fix the imperfection over all.

DAtingROyal.jpg

OPI Mod About Brights collection called Dating A Royal. Dating a Royal is a royal blue color, or more appropriately, a deep cornflower blue, has a creme finish that is already opaque on the first layer.

OPI Gargantuan Green Grape.
What's interesting about this color is that it sort of 'changes' depend on how you see it. The way it looks in the bottle, it's looking pretty pastel-y.

Spontaneous.jpg

Spontaneous is a gorgeous true purple color that has a cream finish, for this look I used base coat and 2 coats of the polish, just enough to make it very opaque.

Agent Lavender, another China Glaze from Operation Color collection. Agent Lavender applied like a dream, very smooth and super opaque even on the 1st coat.
