Nail Polish

^ that looks hot. im going to buy the Matte OPI soon in red :)

^I have to warn you though, the OPI matte shades are terrible... Especially quality wise. :( They don't really look matte at all, just rusty :(

Anyone in the UK/Europe know of good sites to buy OPI from? Or even any reliable ebay sellers? I really hate paying high shipping costs so I thought I would ask before buying anything

Wow, that's cool, a HK collection! ^^ That being said though, I usually prefer shades for nail polish, but there's no harm in looking right? And I might just find a lighter shade that is a must buy ^_^

On the talk of Matte, I think I agree with the general consensus of the OPI matte... I've saw a picture of the result of OPI matte 'Russian Navy' nails and all of a sudden my throat felt very dry and constricted:blink: It's the first time I've seen a matte finish and I guess my brain wasn't very used to it (Where's the shiny? the lovely liquid look I'm so used to?!) (I know I'm strange :p ) Guess I'm for glossy! But the picture posted by michyed, the matte looks good!

^ I like both matte & non-matte/glossy finishes. IMO matte finishes tend to look better if the nail polish has a dark vampy hue and/or shimmer/glitter particles.
The photos that michyed posted in #974 and #980 are perfect examples of this. (#980 actually has holographic shimmer, which looks amazing matte).

And here's an example of what a matte topcoat can do for polishes with glitter:

The photo posted by Michyed in #980 has sold me to matte ^_^ I'm looking forward to trying not so shiny nails!

Hong Kong collection looks great :D

I'm loving the look of the Hong Kong collection. I especially like the look of "Jade is the New Black" and "Bling Dynasty"

Jade is the New Black looks great as do the whole HK collection! I can't wait to see more swatches!

I couldn't agree more! I like the idea of a matte topcoat more, because it is a lot more flexible in terms of colors. And if you're not in the mood for matte, you still have all your original non-matte colors to play around with!

Holographic colors look amazing with matte topcoats. This is making me want to order the Essie topcoat... Must resist my temptation to spend :ninja::ninja::ninja:

I am in love with the Essie matte topcoat... Take a look at this!

^^ ooh that looks really nice! I have to say that I haven't really liked any of the other images of colours with a matte topcoat but the Essie one above is rather pretty!

does anyone know where i can get a matte coat in australia??

^Essie has a Matte About You topcoat, I know OPI has one too... So if any of those brands are available there then do get your hands on one of them :buzz:

If not, you can just search Essie Matte About You in Google shopping, most of those sites have international shipping, that's how I found out about izzy's beauty shoppe too :D
