Nail Polish

Chicca - I have Chanel Gold Fiction and I really love it. It's a really unique shade. I haven't been able to find anything like it, so I'm saving up my bottle.

My favorite nailpolish shade right now is Chanel Blue Satin. It's dark dark navy.

I've the blue satin it's still one of my fav, after the rouge noir is the best shade!!^_^
it's impossible to find the gold fiction I've tried eveywhere..must try ebay.

AKing : sparkly but not too much for me , that's why I NEED the chanel one!!

I think I will probably do a really glamorous red on my toes for NYE. I'll be wearing a gryphon sequin mini, and a champagne colored mink wrap, and YSL mary jane tributes. So I think I'll probably do a dark red (Chanel Lotus Rouge) or a OPI Vodka & Caviar (really pretty true red - no orange tones).

My Chanel Blue Satin has become.. gummy and it's a torture to put on :(

My Chanel Ballerina has become gummy and gross, but I never use it.

giggetta and chanelandfur (if you ever decide to wear Ballerina again, or just want to revive the formula ;)):

You can revive your nail polish with nail polish thinner (like Seche Restore or Beauty Secrets Nail Polish Thinner). Just add a few drops of the thinner inside the bottle, stir (or shake the bottle)... and within a few minutes the formula should be like-new again.

Also, never use nail polish remover as a replacement for nail polish thinner. :flower:

That really helped! I have some gummy Chanel polishes as well. I used to pour remover into my gummy nailpolishes, what a terrible mistake. :ninja:

Thank you :D:wub:

Quick survey:
Are you ladies going sparkly or matte for this holiday? What shade for Christmas? New Years?

Sparkly, I don't think matte suits me. For Christmas I'll probably wear OPI's Big Apple Red & for NYE I was thinking Chanel's Vendetta. :) Love to read everyone else's choices.

I usually really like to have my nail natural, a nice gel job and that's it  huhu
But for Christmas i'll definatly go a nice classic red :D

Yesterday I did my feet with the Essie color: Fiji
I usually really like Essie nailpolish but this one... jeeeeez.... same texture as Liquid Corrector. I was not even able to put it right, I guess brigther almost white color are harder to put on

Great ideas - keep 'em coming

Well I have decided. For Christmas at least - OPI "Meet and Jingle". NYE still up in the air, don't know what I am going to wear yet!

I LOVE sparkles and shimmer in nail polish but I don't like them on my hands. I am more adventurous on my toes.

RBL's retail for $18 USD... so $9 per bottle is a much better deal. :D

Shipping is $8.50 (flat rate) within the US. And they do offer international shipping. (I read on MUA that shipping to Canada is $38.50... I'm not sure if it's the same rate for other countries).

Found the most amazing red: NARS Rouge Andalou. No pictures do it justice. You'll really just have to see it in person. Trust me ;)

Hi ladies! I am so crazy about Chinchilly by Essie. Let me first say that I'm not really good at applying nail polish, but I do find it near impossible to apply right? Any good ideas? The one I have gets weird at the top of the bottle, and these little dry flakes fall from it. I am a bit slow when I apply it, but it just seems to get thicker and more impossible by the minute. Should I try adding some nail polish remover to thin it?

Don't add nail polish remover to it (it will ruin it), use a nail polish thinner (see post #1024). :flower:

Here's a good tutorial on nail polish application:

Thanks a LOT, Fly, this was really what I was looking for. Saved the tutorial immediately and will look for polish thinner soon.

anyone have any good tips for a product that helps dry nails quickly?

i have a BAD habit of doing my nails at night/right before bed

and then the polish never seems to fully set so it's got ridges in it from my pillowcase fabric when i wake up in the morning making it look dull and textued... ugly
so i usually end up putting on another coat of polish or topcoat to smooth it out as i'm getting ready in the morning and it's not ideal because i tend to be in a rush and somehow mess it up again

anyway, any good tips for drying? :p

^Hmm... I find that a fast dry topcoat really helps. OPI sells a lot of these!
