Nail Polish

OPI lasts the best for me. It's vital to use a good base coat though - I use Orly bonder.
Also make sure there's no oil or anything on your nails before you paint as that will cause chipping too.

Yay I got the Alice in Wonderland mini kit today :D
Oh, lucky you! I'm getting Mad as a Hatter soon!:woot:

Does anyone know for a good alternative to Chanel Blue Satin? Mine is almost gone, and I'm thinking of buying OPI Russian Navy or maybe Zoya Indigo?

One more question, how to whitten yellow nails? I'm wearing nail polishes all the time and I've noticed they're a bit yellowish.:ninja: It's true that I should use base coat more regulary, not just from time to time. I heard lemon juice works as well. What else?

I ordered Mad As A Hatter as well, along with Absolutely Alice. They look gorgeous in pictures so I'm excited for them to arrive.

i have all of the OPI wonderland collection.. i dont like absolutely alice as much as the rest, but maybe over another color.. they're all gorgeous though! mad as a hatter is my fav!

You can try whitening toothpaste, denture cleaner or soak in a weak solution of bleach.
I just put up with my nails being slightly yellowish though, as they're always painted.

Thanks So Muchness! is pretty good too, but doesn't stand out as much to me.

And I felt like they could have done something more with the last shade. Off With Her Red! is fine, and I know red is a big part of Alice in Wonderland, but it felt kinda like a throwaway shade:ermm:.

I love Mad as a Hatter but am I the only one who had problems with it peeling off? It peeled right off two of my fingers...each in one huge piece. I couldn't believe it! I am not a glitter nail polish wearer usually so I have never experienced anything like this before!

Some MakeupAlley-ers had the same experience with Mad as a Hatter.

It chipped, not peeled, on my second day of wearing it. (This was with two coats of MaaH, and without a base coat & top coat).

^The website i took those swatches from had a wear test for Mad As A Hatter:

I’ve been reading your comments about the glitters from the OPI Alice In Wonderland collection and see that quite a few of you have been experiencing major chipping issues. I thought I would share the results of my unintentional wear test with Mad As A Hatter.

You see I wore MAAH for NYE and because I can be extremely lazy AND I hate removing glitters (the soak off process is arduous) I ended up leaving the polish on my right (non-photographed) hand for NINE DAYS.

When I finally went to remove MAAH, I thought I should document how well it lasted on me. Which is why your comments about chipping are so surprising. I used one coat of Nubar Foundation Base Coat, 3 layers of MAAH and 2 coats of Olan Labs Quick & Slick Top Coat. Now I did get a chip on my left thumb on NYE but that was a Wii related accident. You have to admit, for nine days, the polish looks pretty good.

That makes me curious… those of you that have experienced chipping and poor wear from your Alice in Wonderland glitters, what products are you using and how many layers of each? Remember, the thicker the coats and the more coats you use, the more prone you are to chipping. So my first suggestion, not knowing your technique, is to apply thin coats of everything and see if that helps.

I bought nail buffering and conditioning set - clean, condition & shine and it helps little.

any suggestions for light purple, lavender, non-shimmering shades?
how is OPI's Done Out In Deco from South Beach collection, anyone has it?
