Nail Polish

Top coat protects the nail polish from chipping, lengthens the wear and usually leaves your nails with a longer lasting shine.
I know that it really would make difference to wear top coat but I'm lazy and I don't want any extra shine. I like how nail polish normally shine, nothing more.

The manicurist at the OPI salon actually used a hair dryer (cold) to dry my nails! :p

Maybe that's why you have all those bubbles, cause my nails are perfect! :p I'm really glad with this Top Coat! It really was worth the price.

I really want 'You don't know Jacques' by OPI. I just love the color.

I got the "Suede" version. I'll try it on this week. I'll let you know! :p

^ Ohh thank you!

I read that the heat sort of "melts" the bubbles out. I would think that the cold air would just solidify them.

Sometimes after I take off my nail polish with remover the nails are still slightly stained. I think a base coat would be good for me. I'm thinking about buying Essie. Anyone have Essie or is OPI better? Thank you.

McClaire and Malow, I have You don't Know Jacques both in the original version and the suede version, and they're both gorgeous!!! (The suede with top coat is even better :woot:)

I've never tried Essie base coat but I've heard good reviews about OPI. I'm using Nubar Nu Nails and it's the best I've found for me so far.

i'm jumping in a bit late on the top coat discussion but i've been using essie's good to go and have seen a marked improvement in my manicures... definitely last a bit longer and dries quickly...

i had/have essie's 3 way which is top coat/base coat and that one NEVER drives...
i wake up with ridges in my nails from the pillowcase/sheets if i use that one

so, i haven't tried OPI but i can definitely recommend essie's good to go...
my sister has it as well and she noticed a difference as well...
makes an at home manicure look more professional :p

I can't wait for my Essie Good To Go Top Coat to arrive

So it's been 8 days since I got this manicure at OPI, and it honestly still looks as good as new! 100% no chips, although the surface doesn't look as shiny anymore. For some reason the tiny air bubbles aren't as visible after a few days, or maybe it was just the lighting at OPI that made them stand out. I can now safely say that OPI's Top Coat is a great investment. I don't know why the reviews on MUA are so negative. :(
I'm gonna wait to see how much longer this topcoat will last me!

I've always had a problem with Chanel nailpolish they never come out nicely on my nails. It always look uneven. Does anyone else have this problem??

^You might need to apply a few extra coats. Always use a topcoat when it comes to Chanel. Their polishes love to chip!

^Do you wait for the first coat to dry before applying the second? Which shade are you using?

Yes i always do that. Now i'm using a pink shade, but it's the same with all Chanel polishes for me tho >_<

I just did this to my nails.
I sprinted a little bit of golden powder on my wet nails, previously painted with another nail polish, a little bit bronze

The results are these, and I really like it, though i havent cleaned my fingers yet! :p
