Nail Polish

Does anyone have a recommendation for a solid light blue color with no shimmer or anything?

Similar to O.P.I.'s "What's With The Cattitude?" from the new Shrek Collection, but maybe just a teeny bit darker?

I prefer OPI's original brush to Essie's I think. Although the brush does allow a precise application (just used to the pro-wide brush). It's still better than the china glaze brush, which is awful:(

If it's a periwinkle blue you're after you could try the blue from the new Orly spring collection, called Snowcone (the collection is not out yet though)

I don't have any OPIs with old brushes, only ProWide brushes and they're the best, but they're not very suitable when you have short nails or by default small nails.
flyme2themoon, thank you for your comparison! Can't wait to get some Essies.:woot:

I find Essie's brushes to be much easier to control than OPI's. I prefer Essie over OPI for this reason, although OPI typically has better color selection.

that looks perfect! thanks! i don't mind waiting till April, i've tried everywhere to find a color similar to it with no luck.

I really like Essie. I'm a totalt amateur at nail polishes but my husband bought St. Lucia Lilac for me online and I love it - it's easy to apply and lasts well. It's a light colour and I only need two layers to look good :) Add to that, that you can find most of the colours very cheap online - I'm a big fan already :D

Online shopping is just the best for nail polish isn't it? Such an amazing selection at such cheap prices!
I'm in Oz, where the same nail polish (if you could even find it for sale) would cost me 250% more:D

Hey girls! ^^ Need advice about buying a nail polish...
What is the brand that holds better and doesn't chip? I heard no good of Dior, but lots of good of Estee Lauder... I also have to say that i live in switzerland so i don't have like half the brands you do...

OPI's very popular both for their range in color and their durability. I have also read that buffing your nails prior to applying polish will help it adhere better and prevent chipping. Have you tried eBay? There are many brands available that will ship internationally. Good luck! :)

OPI definitely. I've been using Chanel for a while now, and I've finally decided that it is definitely not worth the price... It chips like hell. :(

So far I really like my Essie! It's super easy to apply, very nice formula, and when it (finally) dries, it is so shiny and pretty! I don't know how long it will last as I just received it today, but so far I like it a lot. It takes its sweet time to dry, though.

OK, so following your advice, i bought opi top coat. I'll try it later, but i have to insist... how muchdo you pay for it? It cost me 22$. Still cheaper than chanel, that costs like 35$ though... in moments like these, i really wish i lived in the usa.

Right... But just so i can compare, how much does an OPI polish costs in America?

OPI retails for $8.50/bottle in the U.S. The Designer Series (DS) OPI's are $12.50/bottle.
They're cheaper online at sites such as Transdesign (see post #1157) and Ebay (as mentioned above by December_25th).

OPI's top coats start at $8.50+. These too can be found more cheaper online.

Speaking of top coats, I've been hearing several raves over Barielle Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender. It's suppose to extend your manicures up to 5-7 days.

I just ordered Essie - Body Language which seems to be a dupe of MAC's LoveLace.

^ I love that milky type of color. Just lovely!!
I saw a bottle of Essie's Lilacism last week and swatched it on my nails. I'm in love.

seeing as you're in Geneva, have you tried Mavala top coats? I find they are great as well- and I tend to buy mine there as its the cheapest there in all of Europe...

Just saw this color:

Kreme de la Kremlin

AllLaqueredUp

So pretty:wub:. I need it, but unfortunately it's from OPIs Russian collection, so it might be hard to find:(.
