Modelinia Exclusive: Natasha Takes On Gender Roles
The test of a model’s ability comes when photographers and creative directors, as well as the client, dream up an innovative and challenging theme for a photoshoot. A model could be on the tip-top of a ledge, hanging in the air, or even posing against a green screen for special effects.
Natasa Vojnovic proved her capabilities and talent with the new Fall 2010 lookbook for Rochambeau, as she not only showed off her skills posing in the brand’s collection, but transformed into a man in order to play her opposite! Photographer Hugh Lippe snapped the model as both a male and female, in designs which draw inspiration from Blade Runner and Logan’s Run. She models the menswear designs, with a slicked back ‘do, harder expressions, and at one point even poses as if there were another person alongside of her. The magic of a skilled model and editing room inserts created the above shot. Check out the site on April 1st for the full lookbook
Javier Vallhonrat takes Natasa Vojnovic to the wild side for Vogue Germany, with an intense editorial that gives Natasa the chance to show off her legendary posing skills. In ‘Tanz auf dem Vulkan’ (Dance on the Volcano), Vallhonrat creates an otherworldly vision: the fiery background, Natasa’s movements and Mika Mizutani’s expert styling, combine to create a beautiful and memorable story.
