Has anyone ever heard of ndc...a brand of shoes...before? If so - do they know anything more about them (like a website or retailers).

    Tanks.

Yes, my friend designs the collection - they're based in Paris and the website is www.ndcmadebyhand.com

Really lovely shoes arent they? Hes a very talented bloke.

He mentioned that Poste have bought some of the collection, but I don't recall seeing it in there last time I looked.

You could call Linzi at surgery p.r. she should know (number on the website)

Actually, you're in the US aren't you? I know one of the big department stores has bought them he was telling me but I wasn't listening - could be Barneys :innocent:

These shoes appear to be very sleek, for lack of a better word... I would love to see more!

UK actually. I'll get on the trail of those ndc's as soon as I get back from Oxford. Thanks so much for the info...Google came up with pages of junk for ndc I never would have found the website if you hadn't told me.

I also googled for the shoes, and it didn't give a lot of results...

From the tiny sample I've seen, they do indeed seem to be gorgeous! Basic, traditional, trendy, elegant. Without being boring, stuffy, ridiculous, pimpish.

Designing shoes is a balancing act, and it seems he's able to walk the tightrope. :woot:

They do womens shoes as well. I'm in love with some distressed riding boots that they are launching next winter.

They're at Barneys? The site doesn't list any American stockists. :(

I want those glitter and patent shoes! (of course I would-- "ooh, shiny!")

edit: Oh, I see it now. They list "Distributors" meaning wholesalers, whilst "Customers" is for stores. Got it now. Must be a French thing! :p

I have just spent the past hour calling London, Germany and Japan. Irritatingly enough, NO ONE is stocking the NDC shoes that are appearing in all the editorials! Grr.

Did you see them with the Galliano coat in i-D?

I know that Cruise in Newcastle and Microzine in London sell them. I'm sure that other London stores must sell them because Newcastle is like fashion's nuclear winter.

I saw them featured just recently in Esquire (British) as well as on the JC Report. Which ones were on I-D? I'm looking for the metallic washes, and while Selfridges and Poste carry them, they only had the washed brogues. Shelter in Japan has them, but they're a full $250 more expensive there than some stores in Europe just on purchase price alone, not even counting shipping and taxes.

If you have a phone number for Cruise and Microzine, I'd really appreciate it - I'd try calling them. :flower:

The pair in i-D have also been featured in the Observer twice. They're pink Oxfords with burgundy toecaps.

Cruise is 0191 261 0510 (+ the UK dialling code). I saw some black leather Oxfords and the distressed boots in there last season and haven't looked yet for this season. They also sell Oliver Sweeney as a point of interest...

Microzine is 020 7704 6667 (+ the UK dialling code). They have the washed brogues up on their website www.microzine.co.uk.

Thanks so much! You're a prince!

okay, that was too easy, I couldn't help myself.

I'm looking for the really lustrous metallics and washed patent ones, and while those shoes have been featured a lot lately, it's one of those editorial things that don't seem to get ordered by the stores. I actually tried those ones Galliano had on - they have the exact same color and style at Destination here in NYC, although it's not a style I really want. I went to gauge the size, as the washed oxford style I want is similar, just a different finish.
