The mall at the Vessel seems like a terrible idea for luxury/high end unless they think they can solely depend on tourist.

Not to mention that I know quite a few people who open that location and started as "stylist" with extensive client books and said the buy for NYC was really bad. That store has bad turnover because the associates are not making money.

Also interesting about this Saks and Authentic Brands Group have formed a joint venture called Authentic Luxury Group which will hold Barney's, Judith Leiber, Hervé Léger and Vince. The new Saks Group could be an important luxury group in around 10 years if everything goes well for them.
