I hope I posted this in the right forum and there isn't a similar thread.
Anyway, everyone owns tank tops and I'm looking for some. I already own some, but I was wondering which ones are the best brands. Right now, I am looking at James Perse and they look pretty good. So what tank tops are the best? 5 dollar ones at any department store, a 95 dollar brand name one?
Oh yeah, and do you guys think that tank tops are supposed just supposed to be worn underneath. I wear mine out on a casual day with friends but sometimes sleazy guys look at you and sometimes when I see other girls wear it, it does come off sl*tty sometimes.
Haha, I don't really get why I typed the last paragraph. Sorry for ranting
I'm just looking for some good brands. Thanks!
I like American Apparel tank tops because of the range of colours, cuts and ribbings. Their prices are also very reasonable.
The sluttiness level of a tanktop depends on the fit and what you do with them really. I tend to wear mine looser and plus I'm not really well-endowed in that area! I usually use tank tops for layering anyway.
I can't wear Gap tanktops by themselves, because they are REALLY REALLY low cut, whatever size I try. Not really sure why.
as an angeleno, tank tops are basically part of the california casual uniform! My best are from petit bateau, but I also like jcrew's ribbed tanks. I find that ribbed tanks look best on me as I am fairly busty. they just retain their shape better and look sexier (plus they're more forgiving) Also, IMO, tank tops, with their thicker straps that conceal bra straps are far classier than spagetti strapped cami tops> those are best for sleeping, working out and under other clothes!
if you don't want ribbed, w/ thinner straps, i'd def go for C&C
Made and Tallulah (which i think is only sold in Canada?) are great too, more liek the "wife beater" style with the thicker straps and ribbed material.
For budget looks though, my gf bought a great tanktop at old navy, she said it was the "perfect long tank" or something like that, it looked great on her though.
i c&c california tank tops/shirts....they are sooo soft and comfy...i would wear old navy or hanes ones but they are just too big on me..the only bad thing is they're expensive (for a tank top) and theyre kinda thin so you pretty much have to layer them...they come in cute bright colors too
