Nina Ricci S/S 2026 Paris

I loved the sheer black gowns.
The rest can go back to Cavalli.

....next!

Simple: because fashion criticism do not exist.
No the problem is that people don’t care.
People seems to care only for the brands they have an emotional attachment to, which is unfortunate.

I remember Nina Ricci under Peter Copping. Then Guillaume Henry came and destroyed a bit of the magic of the brand.

Let’s face it, the other issue is the owners. Everybody wants the hot name. His claim to fame was costumes at the Met Gala. So you can imagine an owner who see that someone could have access to that platform, he then thinks that this is the right formula for his brand. And it’s not.

We had the same thing for Rochas. No long term vision behind those decisions.
What could fashion criticism add to it?

If owners of those brands thought that fashion can also be a viable business and not just a support for fragrances, maybe things could work. Nina Ricci’s clothes have no business to be sold at those prices when their most expensive fragrance cost less than 150 euros.

I was being polemic hahaha it fascinates me how some of these brands are just headless chickens, no long term strategy, bad creative decisions on top of it, how do they survive? Sometimes it's not even family houses but it's messy just like one.

What do they think they were getting with this person? I don't get it. Zero talent taste vision. He makes clothes for drag queens.

And about the criticism: besides tfs, where can you write open free public fashion criticism? I'm talking about real critique not just instagram comments snark. The vloggers influencers are all trying to get into that world of fashion so they don't criticize anything, and journalists like cathy horin have no credibility, they're all PR. I do like the videos mimma viglezio is doing she's an observer don't seem to have ties to any brand. I'm an observer too trying to understand the industry I like the relantionship between fashion design and commerce it feels like big pressure compared to other industries.

It would be nice to have a person to point his finger and say You suck! . That is my complaint simply lol
