No Facial Cleanser No Shampoo - Doing Without

Same problem here. I never know if it's right what i'm doing to my face.. I try to avoid using too much products, but i often test mix of products.. Who knows what's good.. :( Simple water wouldn't be enough because even i have normal to oily skin (esp on T zone) it gets dry if i wash it only with water and i don't use any moisturizer.
Maybe the right way is to eat healthy, sleep enough than concentrating on skin care products... Maybe...

I agree with you, but I think we should "treat" our skin too much. A mild soap will do though

As so the hair, i apply shampoo every other day to prevent them from breaking out

^ I wash my hair every 3. day and my bangs every day if i have to go out (hairdresser messed it up and i look like a chicken after waking up >.<).
What do you mean by "we should "treat" our skin too much"?

I don't know. Do whatever works for you. But I agree that too much product over load can cause skin and hair problems. That's why I'm not a product junky.

i just cant not wash my face at night/in the mornings or not wash my hair every of ther/every three days, otherwise i feel dirty and horrible, i cant stand that feeling. washing my face with cleanser in the morning wakes me up and having clean, shiny hair always makes me feel more confident. i try to be careful with my skin though, in the morning i use Clinique facial soap on my face, its very gental and makes my skin soft and after i use a moisturiser. at night i use Clean and Clear foaming cleanser, cos i need something stronger to take my make up off/fight spots and then use Body shop vitamin e moisturiser, which is very rich and is amazing. once a week i exfoliate and do a face mask. my skin is ok i have a few spots but so do alot of teenagers.

my dad thinks, or bodies are made perfectly, and when we use products, it stops our body producing things naturally...

i have this horrible feeling that hes onto something.

but every other person thinks hes crazy and its giving me such mixed feelings. i guess i'll never know whats best.

im just going to wash my face with a gental wash, and apply a small amunt of mosturizer and eye cream. using all natural stuff just to be on the safe and will see how this goes.

I think there is a limit to everything. I started using cleaser and stuff since 15. Then when I was 16, I started to add exfoliate, switch cleaser, moisterizer rapidly, and my face started to have acne. I tried everything and my skin was so red and irritated. Then last week, (tired of feeling burnt and red) I cleared out my cabinet. Now I use glycerin, vitamin E oil, acne system daily. Once a week I exfoliate. After a heavy makeup wearing I use a deepcleanser. And to tell you the truth, after 3 days doing that, my skin is no longer irritated. The redness is gone, so is some mild acne scars. other acne scars start to fade and there is less acne on my face too (there is no new one, only one or two which are healing!). So remember, less is more!!! And natural regiment is best. Some thinks oil is not good for your face. WRONG! I repeat! WRONG. The good oil with a good amount will make your skin look glowy and amazing. Another, people who cut off fat completely won't have pretty skin. Fat is what regenerate your skin cells. So eat healthy fat, and watch out for how much you eat it! (just don't pig out on it!)

hmm I haven't had a chance to fully read through the thread, I'll do that later, but for oily hair it is good to not wash your hair for a few days every now and then, i think, and I like how my hair looks without washing. Looks Sienna/Kate-ish!

As for skin...I'm not so sure. I wash/acne cream/lotion every morning and evening, but I don't know if that could be bad for my skin. I'll try it sometime maybe!

someone + no skin care?

do you knoe anyone or heard of anyone that hasn't used skincare (like tone, cleanse, etc, ) and has good skin when they are older?!
but uses some makeup like lipstick and eye makeup?
i dunno, if i should give it a try :P and see if i can have good skin without skin care ??????

reallly? what brand of soap?
so she has no wrinkles or sunspots? i think that's the main thing i'm worried about! =P

so do you USE any skin care, you must have the good genes too

you sound close to your mum! you are lucky ^_^

Dove soap and Nivea moist. Nothing fancy expensive.
Of course she has wrinkles, there is no 59 years old without wrinkles except after plastic surgery, but she looks way younger than her age. Anyway wrinkles she has only around eyes and not very deep. ^_^

hey, i just thought i would tell you ppl this. ive decided to go no skin care for 2 weeks now, after creams, toners and cleansers and stuff. just to see what happens. and OMG the change in AMAZING!!! i have such clearer skin. i think because i touch it less often, i have just about no more pimples left!

yeah so fashionlives, you should definitly try it just to see if it works for you.... it cant hurt to try 2 weeks or a month without could it......?

^ you mean absolutely nothing, not even moisturizer?

i can't live without moist., my skin feels too dry after washing with water :(

^yep absolutly nothing. its been heaven, and been saving heaps of time. at first i was a bit dubiouse and my skin was a bit flaky cause it wasnt used to no mosturizer, but i think it started to preduced its own oils soon because the initial minor flakyness isnt there anymore.... my friend who is a firm beliver in skin care even said it was looking nice and fresh lately....

^ hmm sounds nice.
however i can't imagine my daily routine without moist. i don't use anything else on my skin and i'm fine with it.
when i used lot of products i had break outs, but since i use only gentle soap and moist. my skin is nice again ^_^

I have acne and derma. products that I should probably still use but I'd love to go without everything! But I wear makeup so must cleanse....too self conscious at work without it.

ohhh, i just noticed something, rember how i said i converted to all bare... well i noticed today, i kept using a face re-freshing spray unconsiously through out the day... (im addicted to it:(p

does that still count as using stuff on your face?

i feel like ive sort of cheated a tiny bit, but i feel i should be honest and let you know im still using my re-fresh face spray:blush: BUT i dont use the main cleanser, toner, mosturizer anymore....

^ i think absolutely nothing can work only for lucky ppl
city life is killing skin, i think only water is not enough, but of course too much chemicals are never good. :flower:

^ AHHHH its so confusing isnt it!!! i want to know what exactly it is that is the best thing, but you can just never be to sure! with al these mixed signals! how much is too much, how much is too little

its SOOO frustraighting not know exactly what it is thats best!!!

i prob know when im 100, and then it will be too late....

now im starting to wonder if it not using anything only looks good now, but will in the long run damage my skin....
