the ballerinas look quite crapy, the type of thing you'll buy at a flea market or at a chinese bazaar... are they those already designed by Madden? or the collaboration is for future collections?

yes, those are designed and made by steve madden corporation. they are available to buy now on jcp.com

their cosmetic line for walmart ended this week.
they are thinking of expanding olsenboye to cosmetics according to WWD.

I don't see where they're going with this line. It's quite boring with no style. I don't like any of the shoes from the line either. Disappointing. And the boots, $100....that's a ripoff!

^I think this is just a preview to see how the market works... (a sort of market research)and maybe for the february official launch they change/add pieces... 'cause apparently Madden has just been confirmed as their shoe designer.

this preview is very confusing, but as it's target for tween/teens you'd better ask them what they do think.

You know, I'm not disliking this for the sake of disliking this, I genuinely like the Olsens and I think their work with Elizabeth and James and The Row is really good - In fact, I own quite a few Row pieces. :flower:

I'm truly confused as to this collection and what they're trying to aim for, the market, the vision - it just seems incredibly poorly done and really supbar even for an unsophisticated market.

And in regards to the last part - my sister is what is considered a "young teen" - she's 14, and I did actually ask her opinion upon seeing the pieces. She's no highbrow fashionista but even she told me that it looked cheap, stuff that should be on-sale for $5 or so, and just really banal and generic. She also said she wouldn't buy it because Forever21 does it better for cheaper. Even K-Mart, Khols etc..

At the end of the day, I think that this line is simply not good - and that is despite (or inspite of) all the reasons over markets and audience or whatever.

Oh god, if this line flops, it will be so embarrasing for them. If it didn't do well, the last time they flopped this hard would be 2004 when New York Minute bombed at the box office.

I don't wanna write my fave twins off just yet though........we will just have to wait and see how this all goes ^_^

here are pictures of the accessories. most of them are 12$ (jcp.com)

^What do you expect of $12 junior-targeted bags exactly?

^ Anything else would be an improvement IMO. One can go to Target or TJ Maxx and get a bag around that price range that looks 90% better than that.
