This is true, I know a guy who knows her and he writes her name as 'Olja'.

But then again, that is how we pronounce it anyway...so makes no difference really.

Of course it does make a difference. Just because people don't know how to pronounce her you can't change someone's name! First of all, the letter "Y" does not exist in Serbian, so her name is Olja. The spelling Olya has just been created for the western world so that people get a clue of how to pronounce her. Wouldn't you guys mind if people were spelling you in a wrong way? I certainly would because then it would not be my name!

^ yes i understand but what's the point of all of this where I think Olya/Olja herself is now very used of seeing her name written as Olya everywhere... its all the same... and it happens all the time when you go to other countries where they write names differently... :flower:

anyways lovely pictures she look so awesome in Anna Sui! :woot: what a cutie

Sort of small, but cute regardless. Backstage at Proenza Schouler S/S 2007:

I know how you feel, it's the same for me i.e. every time I read of russian models called "Eugenia"... damn, the real name is Evgeniya / Evgenija! :(

p.s.
Btw, a question for serbians: is "Olja" the original name or is it (like in russian) a familiar nick originated from the name "Olga"?

lol this topic is still on... if you think beyond the spelling its all the same its like adapting to other culture? :p put it to rest already... :D

ah anyways kellynjane those are some lovely pictures love the glasses on her B) so cool

I do know this, I do not need the lesson on what letters exist where. As for 'not making a difference', I think you interpretated this wrongly - I understand how her name is PRONOUNCED therefore the way it is spelt does not make a different to ME. Get on at the Fashion industry, not myself - I did not spell her name that way.

A lot of things are changed for the western world, such as sweet & sour chicken...it isn't really a Chinese dish - just made for the western world. Americans argue they speak 'English', whereas some English argue that the Americans speak...well, 'American' - Allan Sugar does for one and that English guy out of Lost (can't remember his name).

The list goes on!

But thanks for the 'lesson', but seriously...didn't need it :flower:

I copied her hair cut, lol!

Not as great as Olya's though, as it still has to grow at the side.

^ I see hehe that is so cool! :)

I hope we get to see more of her in Milan/Paris
