but somewhat inspirational from a textural and visual standpoint...

Must have been fun making.. and quiet an interesting show to watch.. but I agree wearable is probably the last thing these items are.. I get a bit of a grotest fairytale vibe from it - a bit Alice in wonderland ..and then not really - hm a different take on what costumes in Alice in wonderland could have been ?

on aura tout vu got quite a bit of news coverage before, during, and after the show... they did a little thing where it showed the two designers fitting a model and talking about the satisfaction of seeing their work "brought to life" worn... i believe chopard provided the jewellery for this collection (they also provided the jewellery for christophe josse i believe). i personally don't like it... in pictures it's not as bad, but on tv when they showed more closeups of the pieces, the jewels were way too distracting

I have never actually heard of this designer - but I like what I see!
Of course it's not really wearable - but this is a just a visual treat (as opposed to Galliano which is both unwearable and visually horrifying).

Again - seeing the Baroque and Rococco influences a lot. They actually look like a contemporary interpretation of costumes for A Midnight Summer's Dream or something.

i see it now...i guess the jewels are in the hair...
that's not very nice...
i probably wouldn't have elected to do that...
bu they were probalby just excited that chopard lent them the stuff and were tryin got use it in a creative way...
since it doesn't really 'go' with their designs...

i see this a lot at smaller shows...
chopard may have even been a sponsor and helped pay for the show...
so they may have been obligted to use the jewelry in some way...

And I like it very much, beautiful to look at... and some of the pieces might even be wearable on rare occasions, who knows?

Each outfit's color palette is simply wrong....... It's extremely tacky... they're visibly just doing funky detailing for the sake of it... ..It makes no sense at all....

I don't care about wearability - clothes can be preposterous, ironic, out of this world, etc., but this is all horribly, horribly wrong....ugh...the designs, the shapes, proportions, the details...it's an awful, bad taste interpretation of what "haut couture" is about...

Galliano may be a one-hit wonder, repetitive, even dumb in interpreting his political-sociological sympathies (the ones bleeding, tortured and dispossessed right this moment aren't exactly the ruling classes, genius...), but at least he knows how to get the basics of a BBG (Big Ball Gown) right.
