Since the Russian Collection was so popular, I thought I'd post about OPI's newest colours for Spring/Summer ^_^

OPI Presents a Paradise of Color: The India Collection for Spring/Summer 2008

Color has the energy to excite, to charm, and to soothe – and the shades of the new India Collection by OPI for Spring/Summer 2008 offer a sunny, high-energy palette for nails and lips.

“There has never been a better, brighter moment for color than now,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Spring’s fashion palette is filled with rosy pink, magenta, turquoise, yellow (the new ‘it’ shade), tangerine, and geranium red, used as splashes against natural tones and in bold graphic prints. Shades of hot pink, orange, vivid red, and coral on nails are the perfect complement.”

According to Weiss-Fischmann, lighter shades for nails are so right with the season’s alluring, feminine fabrics. She suggests pale opal nails with delicate dresses of flowing chiffon, organza, tulle, and liquid jersey (very romantic on toes during a midnight walk on the beach); and dove grey nails to accessorize spring’s must-have dress, the body-skimming sheath, shown in soft, watercolor tones. Carnation-pink nails enhance fashion details like sheer overlays, tiered skirts, ruffles, and pleats.

“Neutrals, darks, and metallics add sophisticated color to nails and lips,” says Weiss-Fischmann. “Try these shades with fashion’s long, fluid tunics and loosely cut trousers in mineral tones, as well with high-waisted pants and slouchy jackets – including an updated spin on the safari jacket.”

Wide-brimmed hats, brightly colored bangles and clutches, open-toed wedge heels, and India-inspired beading and metallic embroidery are important touches.

The 12 shades for nails from the India Collection by OPI allow you to immerse yourself in the season’s color nirvana:

Get Me to the Taj on Time - I don’t want to miss this pale opal shade!

ElePhantastic Pink - This carnation pink may start a stampede!

I'm Indi-a Mood for Love - And this hot pink is what I lust for!

Lunch at the Delhi - Now serving a luscious shade of coral.

MonSooner or Later - Drench your nails in this deluge of orange-red.

Keys to My Karma - Start your good fortune with this rich red.

Moon Over Mumbai - A romantic shade of soft, moonlit grey.

Yoga-ta Get this Blue! - Make this deep, dark blue your fashion mantra.

Royal Rajah Ruby - Jeweled burgundy befitting a prince’s princess.

Curry Up Don't Be Late! - This spicy golden metallic simmers with style!

Black Cherry Chutney - Deliciously dark black-red.

Charmed by a Snake - A charming, disarming shade of bronze.

The India Collection Nail Lacquers contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and each features the exclusive OPI ProWide™ Brush for the ultimate in application.

Three of the India Collection shades – Lunch at the Delhi, Royal Rajah Ruby, and Charmed by a Snake – are designated as Suzi’s Picks and are also available in coordinating Lip Colour and Lip Liner. OPI Lip Colour has a richer, silkier new formula, developed to wear and last beautifully.

The India Collection by OPI will be available beginning February 6, 2008

^ thanks for posting this! :flower: Moon Over Mumbai looks really pretty. i'll have to check these out in person - you're right, it's always tough to know if you'll like it if you only see it in a picture.

I am so getting the pinks from this collection; and maybe Black Cherry Chutney too :woot:

I am hearing a lot about the Yoga-ta Get this Blue color...it looks pretty in the swatches but I wont be getting it since I already have Russian Navy. Some are calling it "the perfect shade of navy polish".

i just saw these i LOVE them i really want black cherry chutny!!!!!

I ordered some: Monsooner or later is adorable orangish red. I'm indi mood for love was very similar such as Lifeguard makes me blush or Don't know who beets me. (I'm very good to order same stupid color.. silly me). And Elepshastic pink was strange, it reminds me little bit CG Naked, not pink at all (well, I think in English pink doesn't mean same color than in Finnish), more fair, and warm. Even little bit neon I would say. Quite disappointing except Monsooner.

I had to go to 2 stores to find Black Cherry Chutney. Ulta was totally sold out, so I ended up at Trade Secret. I also picked up Elephantastic Pink. Its so bright.

I really like Black Cherry Chutney though, it reminds me of a lighter Lincoln Park after dark, but with a bit of berry shimmer in it.

Has anyone else purchased anything from this collection?

I bought the Yoga-ta Get This Blue, and it is indeed lovely. It's very blue, with a pretty shimmer. I had never worn blue on my fingers before (and my sister stole my Russian Navy ) so it took me awhile to get used to it. But after awhile I came to like it. It's gorgeous. I haven't compared the swatch with Russian Navy, although I think AllLacqueredUp will do a blog on all the popular blue nail shades soon.

I bought Elephantastic Pink and Yoga-ta Get this Blue. Haven't tried the blue, but I'm wearing the pink and it's fantastic.

Took a pic of it:

It's a bit more vibrant in real life. It's absolutely gorgeous though.

I love that pink. I think it actually looks like the type of pink I wanted to get. I want Get Me to the Taj on time and Moon Over Mumbai too.

I just switched to Yoga-ta Get This Blue! and I absolutely love it. I can't stop staring at my nails. This is exactly the color I wanted Blue Satin to be - it's a navy blue that doesn't appear black. It's gorgeous!

^I have it on my nails and I love it, too, especially the way it sparkles.

I'm a newbie to OPI, and bought 3 from the Russian collection and loved them

There are some nice colors there. will have to check it out. I love how they make this one "Indian". I mean, it's such a broad range of colors, there's nothing particularly Indian about them. I just find the whole concept so hilarious. They could put out the exact same colors and say OPI New York City bright colors for hot days and dark colors for cool nights in the city that never sleeps, etc. etc.

^ haha, i was thinking the same thing when i looked at the collection a few days ago. the colors always have quirky names, but the actual shades compared to the 'subject' of the collection are kind of random IMO.

i have Moon Over Mumbai (find any grey polish shade with the word 'moon' in the name, and i'm there :innocent: ) from this collection on my fingernails right now and it's really a beautiful shade... kind of a 'jelly' type polish, a little sheer. it went on really well... i layered on 4 coats and it applied beautifully without any streaking and dried super quickly courtesy of OPI's Drip Dry polish drops. it's said to be an opalescent grey, but i find it to be more pearly than anything - next time i wear it i'm going to layer it over Rescue Beauty Lounge's Concrete Jungle, which is a dove grey.

Ah!! Yes!! I heard about this new collection a couple weeks ago, but for some reason I couldn't find any pictures of the colors and stuff. Thanks for posting. :)

That elephantastic pink looks... delicious. That's the only word I can think of to describe it.

Here's another page I found for color swatches. (The one previously mentioned in this thread doesn't work for me for some reason.)
