Well, I have to commend Karen Elson. When I first saw the cover of Vogue when they had new top models. At first I didn't agree that Karen should be on it. But now I see that Karen is appearing 2 or 3 times in almost every magazine. I don't like Karen as a model, but she is all over the place. Great Job Karen, you prove you don't have to be perfect to model.

I dont understand how you can count Daria and especially Gemma as most successful models. They have been modelling for 2/3 years...We dont even know if they will stay...

As for this moment, Gemma & Daria are def one of the tops. It wasn't said that 'most successful model' only applies to the ones that are around for a longer time. Then the thread would've been called 'most succesful model ever'.

there are other rising stars but they have a while to go to get to kate's "status." kate is the most successful, although many others are successful as well and are catching up.. but i still don't think any of them will be an icon like kate. gisele is high-fashion, but still is too commercial and the others (i.e. daria, natalia) are just part of the secret fashion world. until there the supermodel era comes again (which you never know.. there are gorgeous fresh new faces, plus the already-young-and-famous infinitely strong ones like gemma)..i don't think the names will be universally known. success-wise there are all the tops girls that have been mentioned like daria, gemma, natalia, liya, marija, eugenia --i'm just thinking off the top of my head-- but then there are the ever-lasting naomis and kates.

Kate Moss came and conquer, she totally changed the way we look at beauty. Before she came in we're celebrating the Golden Era of Supermodel. Picture-perfect Barbie Dolls with Perfect feautures....Cindy, Claudia, Linda, Christy, Naomi, Stephanie Seymour, Karen Mulder, Yasmeen Ghauri etc. These girls are like the ideals of perfection and a favorite of the likes of Versace. Along came the diminutive Kate Moss with her alien like features....hallow eyes and cheeks and all, and at only 5'6.5" singlehandedly put these Barbie Dolls down on their knees. She became the IT girl and made tons of money and open up a lot of possibilities for up and commers......

Without Kate Moss there'll be no Quirky looking girls like Gisele, Karen Elson, Stella Tennant, Amber Valetta, Guinever Van Seenus, Gemma Ward, Devon Aoki,

Buy a Vogue Magazine and chances are, you'll see a lot Of Kate Moss cool campaigns, She's perenially cool and an inspiration of style by fashionistas and designers as well.

idk...a lot of the newer girls such as karolina, gemma and daria are very successful too but since those other 7 have had longer careers, it makes sense to put them first to me

also, heidi tyra adriana...they're making a lot of money...more than the HF girls...so depending on how u measure success i guess will determine ur answer

This is a tricky question. Do you measure success by how much money they've made, how much exposure they've had or by the impact and lasting impression on the public?

If we combine all those criteria, then I would (as predicted) have to say Kate Moss. She's proved she's got endurance and I think has been the most influential on street fashion.

i think that daria has faded a bit and now gemma is conquering...most girls i know who don't know fashion like gemma (perhaps becaues of the internet!)....
but overall, the most successful supermodel is kate m, duh.
the hottest young model is gemma.

i think its gisele because unlike kate, she can do victoria's secret AND marc jacobs. in my dictionary, gisele is under the definition of supermodel. and if we say that gisele's fame is partly due to her public relationship with leo, i think kate moss's relationship with johnny depp and various parties also helped. kate is an icon, but gisele is a supermodel.

Almost everyone votes for Kate Moss, but after the coke-pics everyone droped her. I think her career is over. I think Daria and Gemma are the lucky ones at the moment, hopefully Doutzen will be the next TOPmodel. I think she will make a big chance.
