Organic by John Patrick S/S 2014 New York

Some very nice basics here. I really like the 3rd outfit and the looks with the black shorts.

I kind of love every single look...the last look, the 4th look, and the third last look really speak to me. I think he's quite underrated in my opinion, his work is kind of what I wish Rochas was a bit more like, I feel like he and Zanini would make a great team.

Also the styling/makeup is really lovely and only enhances the clothing and the girls. Would definitely put this in my top ten for New York and the big shows haven't even happened yet.

This is quite beautiful collection, it looks light and easy to wear.

Not in the slightest does it look like that collection. It actually reminds me of Hannah's work at Chloe with a mix of the Row. It's very lovely.

Interpretation is a funny thing. Most moviegoers wouldn't watch the Antonioni movie L'Avventura and come out saying that "optimism" was a prevailing theme. But Organic designer John Patrick isn't the kind of guy to design a collection about anomie, and the wardrobe in L'Avventura looked fantastic when he saw it again, and so…voilà. Patrick views the world through pep-colored glasses. There was a nice sensuality to the clothes he showed today—a flow to the cuts and a worn-in crinkle to the materials—and a dreaminess to the collection's palette, which emphasized soft blues and blush pinks. Patrick struck a nice tone. If the full skirts and peasant tops may have been a bit much for the Organic customer, they were well done; meanwhile, his voluminous trousers were top-notch. With those pants especially, Patrick did a very good job of adapting a vintage sense of scale into clothing that looked distinctly modern. That's the kind of effort that makes you optimistic.

lovely collection, light and looks comfortable but still looks chic, I really like the bagginess of the cut of the trousers in the first look, reminds of a DKNY collection from the late nineties

I agree, it does have a late 1990's feel to the whole collection. It's very simple and I'd definitely wear some of the looks. :flower:

I just found this link which is a Donna Karan campaign for Spring 1999, I like how you can see the inspiration from Karen in this collection, but it is not blatantly copying her work, like so many other designers seem to do these days from past work.

I love his work and it's getting better each season; the full skirts here are a floaty summer dream. I want every one of them! This is an excellent collection. The pastels are dirty enough, too, that I'd wear ALL of them. And while the collection has a largely feminine vibe there is absolutely nothing twee about it; it's still totally urban.

FABULOUS IMO!!
