This sophisticated resort outing by Osman Yousefzada had an exotic Eastern feel, with shimmery brocade fabrics inspired by tiny mirrors, micro quilting and lots of sculptural shapes. The designer worked the silver-embroidered brocade into a strapless gown with a handkerchief hemline and a sleek bathrobe coat fit for a modern-day pasha. Other fabrics included quilted denim for coats with jazzy striped linings, and cutout jersey and leather for skirts and trouser suits.
Silhouettes ranged from organic, as in a suede cocoon parka and a cool elongated bomber, to architectural, such as pagoda sleeves on double-face jersey jackets and crepe dresses. Surfaces sparkled with shiny reflective appliqués, with one long black cotton dress meant to mimic a starlit sky.
