^hm..really? i guess that is good he is getting recognition. i can't really think of many people who know of him. when he played where i live (midwest) he said he was glad people showed up...although i also know people who don't live in the midwest. i think cocorosie may be more recognized.

i think she is, not particularly in her genre (where she's treated like a goddess) but most people, especially people like you and me think she's just another pop star or whatever and i really think she's very talented and has a beautiful voice and her songs are great.

I suppose from your perspective she is underrated, but in general she is a superstar. She has #1 albums and stuff so I figured you can't be underrated if you acheive that kind of success. I do think she is very talented and has an awesome voice...I have to say.

Sometimes you dowtown hipsters don't even give bands who've been given publicity a chance. The British press is too busy labeling bands as the 'next...', to even give them a chance to prove they're original.

Kaiser Chiefs are good... sometimes. I like quite a few songs on their album.

Bloc Party is amazing. Original, creative, and they don't get nearly enough press here in the USA.

Franz Ferdinand is the best of the best.

Kasabian, however, just dosen't do it for me.

Bloc Party are actually good and their cd is awesome and original..theres just heaps of hype which surronds them and it puts people off
I agree about Ed Harcourt being underrated..'apple of my eye' is such a good song and 'here be monsters' is an exceptional cd! im surprised he isn't so big

Underrated -
Richard Ashcroft (i think hes a genius)
Idlewild (check them out -truly amazing stuff)
B.R.M.C (they are really good, they don't get enough credit)
Jeff Buckley (gorgeous and talented, 'grace' is a masterpiece)
The Verve (since i wasn't around when they were i don't really know, but i don't think many people realise how good 'urban hymns' is)

edit - also i think The Thrills are underrated...i love every song of theirs and its great to chill out to..pop music at its finest

I definitely think The Pixies are underrated. I recently bought Doolittle and that CD is just amazing. They definitely haven't received the credit they should earn.
