I go out in public places and mention prefering someone like, say, Radiohead to Green Day and get chewed out. C'mon- there were so many good concept albums realeased last year, like Frances the Mute by the Mars Volta and American Idiot got all the attention.
.Now, even though Neil Young is widely acknowledged & known, I wouldn't call him "overrated," because he hasn't gotten too much else besides, well, he gets played on the radio, many people, typically older, listen to his music & enjoy it, but it is not as though he is on the same scale as, say, Bob Dylan in terms of recognition/appreciation. I believe, if anything, that Neil Young is underrated in relation to lyric/song-writing. I believe he should be on the same scale as Bob Dylan.
