Pale / Fair Skin - What Are Your Fave Products?

Still my absolute favorite foundation (well, it's actually a primer but there's no need to wear anything else):

"Paul & Joe Moisturising Foundation Primer" in 01

does that foundation primer have some sort of coverage then? i love their packaging sooo much lol.

The coverage is enough for me but my skin is pretty clear. I love it more for the fact that it evens out my skin tone like no other product I ever tried. If you need more coverage they make "real" foundations as well. When it's really cold I sometimes use their "Creamy Matte Foundation" because it's so moisturizing (great coverage, I don't use any concealer when I wear this) but rather heavy and I don't like these kind kind of foundations, not because of what they make my skin look but because my hair gets all oily.

They offer about 5 different foundations, you should have a look at their range.

I will, i've always wanted pretty bottles to display lol xxxxxx I have reasonably clear skin so the primer could be worth a try, i'd feel better about buying that than a foundation because colours can go so wrong, and i can't go wrong with the primer because if it's wrong or not right i can just use it as a primer after all lol xxx thanks.

Model Melissa Tammerijn seriously has the most perfect and porcelain skin I've seen, here are her beauty tips from Vogue.com.

I really want to try Laura Mercier now (I read Kirsten Dunst uses the Blush Ivory shade). Have any of you used the brand?

Melissa Tammerijn, the porcelain-complected 21-year-old Dutch mannequin, rushes into Nina Ricci and a swarm of frenzied hair and makeup assistants descend upon her. “I have my own products,” she says calmly, retrieving a Ziploc baggie from her purse containing three well-used items. The fragile, ethereal skin, for which Tammerijn is known, is so sensitive and reactive, her job wouldn’t be possible without these skin-prep essentials. “Foundations and creams really penetrate the outer layer, so it’s the most important step for me,” she explains. “I had to find the right ones.” The winners: Avène Cicalfate Restorative Cream, which she says, “creates a thick barrier;” Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation in Porcelain Ivory, the fairest shade; and YSL Touche Éclat for concealing and highlighting.

Tammerijn reports that most makeup artists know her by now, and are happy to accommodate. Pat McGrath’s team at Ricci was no exception: “As long as it’s good makeup, which hers is, and the end result can be achieved, it’s fine by me,” says one artist, smoothing the model’s Laura Mercier base across her cheekbones.

Following the month of shows, Tammerijn will “sleep for probably 24 hours, drink loads of water, and take an oatmeal bath. I buy 100% pure oatmeal, put it in a sock, and drop it in [the tub]. The water gets creamy. It’s really soothing and moisturizing.” A great winter skin idea—for all of us.

I used to use the tinted moisturizer, but Nude is too pink for me and Ivory is too white for my skin tone right now. It's a good tinted moisturizer but don't buy it without testing the shade first!

Porcelain Ivory is very yellow imo.

I'm loving Chantecaille's new Future skin shade in Porcelain, and also their foundation compact in Petal, gorgeous, really lovely light non oxidising textures for pale girls.
i think my foundation shopping has halted, because i have founf chantecaille.

Well, I'm pretty yellow myself, so Porcelain (which is the TM shade; Porcelain Ivory is the foundation shade if I'm not mistaken) matched my skin TONE but left a whitish cast, especially in photos. In summer I'll probably match Nude again.

And I agree that Chantecaille makes lovely pale shades, but for me their foundations are too dry. I've got pretty dry skin in winter though, and I only tried them at a counter without primer or moisturizer or anything. Still, I didn't love the texture.

Has anyone tried Benefit One Hot Minute bronzer? It's supposed to be pretty subtle. I still haven't found a great bronzer that doesn't make me look dirty.

pink explosion from joues contrastes by chanel is the best blush I have ever encountered for pale skin.

it's limited edition though :( :( :( :(

it lasts forever, but does anyone know of anything similar in shade and awesomeness?

Has anyone tried Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation in 103 ivory? I know it's not going to be as light as Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia, but is it maybe close? :)

Btw, I recenty bought Chanel Pro Lumier in 10 Limpide- Nude, as I saw Lisa Eldridge using it on Kirsten Dunst, and I always thought that she was as pale as me. Obviously, she's not. Foundation is waaaaaay to dark for me.Yet another miss. *Sigh*

celebs usually wear a foundation a shade darker because the flash on cameras makes skin look lighter than it is because of the light reflecting partials in the foundation.

clinique city block sheer! makes my skin soooo smooth. really lightly tinted and its spf 25 which is great if you're conscious about sun damage... stops your skin looking greasy as well!

Has anyone tried out the FACEatelier Zero Minus foundation stuff? I kind of need something to lighten up foundations that I've accumulated that are the right tone but slightly too dark for me now (curse you, Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Blush Ivory!!! 50 bucks for something that is ever so slightly too dark in natural light, ugh)

If anyone has tried out Zero Minus, mind sharing your experience? Does it mix well into foundations (oil free or otherwise)? Does it make foundation photograph oddly (that's sort of a fear for me)! It's a bit of cash to drop for something I can't test out in stores!
(and before anyone suggests MAC Face & Body in white, sorry, not interested for various reasons)

I hate to break it to you, but you need a proper SPF. SPF in moisturizers and foundations lasts for about an hour, and they rarely give you the protection they state.

it's not a foundation or a moisturiser though, you can't use it as either.

Yeah, I also thought the product was only meant to give you sun protection..:ermm:

I was thinking of buying it since it's really lovely on the skin. I have a miniature and I've been using it for awhile now. Doesn't make me oily and doesn't feel like it sits on top of my skin.
