seems to have become a big...
no... HUGE ...trend...


and so all the quirky little things that used to set me apart...
are now the very things that make me look 'trendy'...

*crochet doilies as scarves/vests

*tunics
*drop waist dresses
*babydoll tops and dresses

the list goes on and on...

**even my black frames have become a nasty TREND......

I'm going to try and find some nice wide-bottomed trousers, maybe even sailor legs, for casual with flats. I've been pushing the anti skinny-jean movement since last autumn! I'm gonna look for an alternative to the thick, warm mod and shift dresses I've been wearing all winter, probably just cotton ones! at least im consistent. Also some shirt-dresses would be nice, a good trench too. I'm not very good at summer dressing.

Loving the Tracey Ross sandals. Totally hot. I'm not into big shirts but I do like the white oversized shirt with the belt look. I've worn that look a few years ago and it totally rocks.

Oh my goodness. I just checked out the loverthelabel website. I'm so psyched about the clothing. How hot is this label. I'm going to tell all of my money spending friends. I'm actually going to visit the store in New York and check out the clothes up close and personal. I can't wait.

Some stuff I have been eying online

Ann Demeulemeester cropped trousers

I've also been looking at those Ann Dem cropped trousers but the price.. it's so hard to justify, especially considering I'm not sure how much stuff I have to wear with them! I might give them a go with a sewing machine and see what turns up... or maybe just safety pins!

The only thing left to purchase right away is a pair of black slim/pointy oxford shoes I can wear with jeans or suit pants with no socks.

Well, so far this season for me is about grey, black, and ivory rather than the t-shirt that can change your life, but who knows, that could still change

What I have so far:

• Grey vintage Lucite bag from last season (picture posted elsewhere)
• Black silk ankle trousers from last season
• Grey silk/cotton voile Edwardian mood blouse, Marc Jacobs resort (picture posted elsewhere)
• Black cotton eyelet skirt
• Ordered Anna Sui ivory embroidered silk blouse, 20s style
• Vintage Deco-style platinum/diamond watch with black cord band
• Various silver and grey tights, DKNY
• Black suede/snake print peeptoe slingback heels with pewter ornaments, Cole Haan (no picture of these on their site that I can find!)
• Bright raspberry pink lipstick and nail polish for toes--currently wearing MAC New York Apple and Gee Whiz
• Silver nail polish for fingers and silver/grey eyeshadow

Still to buy:

• Black jeans--I like the ones with Lycra, and 100% cotton jeans are terrible about picking up dog hair--maybe St John, shhhhhhhh
• Black skirt, maybe Celine

All I can remember ... I've been enjoying this look so far.

the first one i picked up is by diane vonfurstenberg (pic from dvf.com)...
in the pic, it's tucked in, but i'll wear it out...

i also have my eye on some by proenza schouler,
marc by marc, and there's a cute silk flyaway top i saw at zara...

i tried on some of those chloe platform sandals, and they were wayyy too tall,
