Picture Me: A Model's Diary (Documentary Film)

These things come with time I suppose. I think the industry wins because it has this gripping fear among its "minions".
All models need to get together and watch V for Vendetta and then make their move

:D an encouraging start it would be, how plausible

I cannot decipher if that was sarcastic or not
But I'm sure I made it quite clear my statement was sarcastic given the 'lol' emoticon.

sif anyone knows where we can watch the whole movie tell me, i'm french and it seems like it's never gonna be in theaters or anywhere here..thanks!

I'm so tired of models bitching and moaning about how corrupt the industry is only after their career has cooled off. Why not speak up from the get go?
Oh that's right, money!

^also most of them are 15,16 tops when these things happen to them. Most agencies don't care.I'd like to see how you would handle something like that at that age...

Yeah OMG i cannot BELIEVE they oppose sexual harassment and actually want to be treated like human beings and not objects..

How dare they!

Dude, are you for real?

I agree. I would think that most of the harrassment would come when a model is first starting out and hoping to establish themself. Most models are usually young, thousands of miles away from their families and most likely don't even speak the local language in the beginning. I was harassed at my new job for a while and it took me a long time to finally figure out that I didn't have to put up with it, and I'm in my 20s. I can't even imagine being put in some of the situations these models are describing at 15.

I don't even think it will come out in the US! I have been all over the internet looking for a release date and haven't found one.

Cameron Russell's still very much a working model, and she spoke out about how her agency told her to sleep with a photographer when she was 16, so she'd get work.
Also, it's easy to scoff at someone else wanting money when you've got enough of it. A teenager from a poor or not-so-well-off background who's just started earning money for the first time by being a model might not want the work to dry up because it might be all that her family's got by way of income- and might be afraid that that's what will happen if she complains about bad treatment on the job.

i didn't even find a release date in europe. imdb.com has no further info on this film.

the only thing i found is that they won an award at the Milan Film Festival 2009 and that the documentary was shown a few times in may

yes, specially since you almost suspect there's something terribly wrong in the industry and you only get to see the glamour.. i think i only glance how awful it must be when i see a picture of a well-known model during the last days of fashion week with huge under circles in her eyes.

i would be curious to watch this documentary, especially after seeing the making of 2010 pirelli!

i'm interested to watch this. however the one thing that i am very aprehensive about is that this is the modelling industry...in the 90s. things are different now. or at least they may be.

I sent Sara a message about it so maybe we will find out soon.

^well its good news that its out on DVD, but you cant even pre-order it on amazon or smth like that so I feel well still have to wait

thank you :flower:

hopefully we'll know soon where to buy this DVD ^_^
kinda strange, that there's no info on the net, not even on the production companies website or imdb.com

a paranoid would say it's being silenced... i'm wondering who's in charge of publishing and press

Sara said it will be distributed in theaters next year.I hope it's a wide variety instead of a few places in NYC.
