piercing yourself??

hey

i've pierced my bf's ear. i was scared first but it went ok. we put an ice cube to freeze the ear, and then i pierced it with a sterilized needle. i wudn't recommend doing that though, because there are a lot of organs connected to your ear so it's dangerous, you might have health problems after.

honestly, I don't think you should do it yourself. Getting piercings done professionally isn't too expensive and it's much safer

I have done 3 out of the 6 holes I have in my ears combined. They all came out just fine and have been fine for years. I would recommed icing really good first though. And I didn't even bother with the needle, I just used an earring stud with a more pointy back stick (usually ones from getting professionaly pierced) and pushed it right through and put the back on. I cleaned it everyday like you would if you got it done somewhere and left the earring in for a lengthy amount of time and they have always been perfect. It may just be luck, but I generally think piercing your own ears is okay.....anything else, get a pro.

lol.. When I was 14 my best friend wanted me to pierce her bellbutton.. needless to say it didn't turn out well. She still has a scar. :innocent:

And I've pierced the second hole in my ear.. Didnt hurt *that* bad and I cleaned it everyday so I didnt get any infections. =)

My suggestion would be to save up the money and have it done by a professional.

Infected piercings are gross and could potentially be dangerous. Especially on or around the face.

My future sister-in-law tried to pierce her own nose when she was 15. I didn't go well at all and she now has an elevated scar on her nose that looks like a wart.

She regrets it badly!

well I pierced about 4 holes in my ears myself.... (2 on each side) I have that special "gun" that does it. I also did it to a few of my friends....they all seems happy with me doing it:smile: oh and my friend also tried to pierce her tungue herself....but she chickened out as it hurt (yeah....don't go that far!!!! ) something should NOT be done by yourself !!!!!!

i supose if you were a profesional piercer you could do it yourself!

Good point. With the proper training I'm sure you could. But I'm sure professionals know their limits and no when they should not go through with certain piercings.

I always wondered if Dentists filled their own cavitites. :innocent:

jeez i knew this one chick in gr 8 and she pierced her nose, and after a few days it became really infected. She was talking her friend into letting her do her nose and the teacher overheard her and began freaking out.

i dont recommend it!

Remember the Full House when Stephanie let Kimmy pierce her ears? Didn't we all learn a lesson from that episode?
