Without naming house/company names, is there anyone on this forum professionally involved with the design/development, marketing, and/or merchandising, etc in the footwear marketplace? If so, what country or city?

D/D here. NYC.

wow! great!!!:woot: let me know if you need anyone to work/help/free lance... etc... i am kind of searching for something now.

Sometimes I'll notice a very similar shoe from two different designers in the same season or a shoe from "Prada" that looks just like last year's "Kors"......

...are there ever nasty phone calls/exchanges related to this and is there any "spying" that goes on in footwear fashion? I'm talking about the top designers here, not the copy-cat shops.

I've always wondered...

Weird as it sounds, sometimes you both get the same idea at the same time. It's happened to me many times.
Sometimes, yes you get copies and sometimes the designers move companies a lot so you can follow their design style.
Yes there is spying even at top level. It does go on.

I have to be really careful as a freelancer to make sure I don't use the same ideas on more than one brand.

I do I work out of NYC for now back to Italy in January. And no it's not very creative lol. I also have my own line with another shoe designer, which hasn't debuted yet.
