Popular European Sneaker Brands

I was talking to an italian woman at work the other day, and she was telling me about a popular sneaker brand that is huge Italy right now... Supposedly they make sneakers in gold and silver and are styled like a pair of pumas (tight to the feet). I totally forget the name of the brand, but it was something german sounding.. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

actually it's 'le coq sportiF'
they've been out there for quiet a long time, so maybe it's not the one??
but anyway, I love their sneakers
