All right! Now we can discuss portuguese language, variations, music, etc!

I used to live in Australia and a teacher of mine used to listen to Sergio Mendez. He's part of a phenomenon that I recently found out about. There are some brazilian singers that are only known/famous abroad. Sergio Mendez is one of those cases, we know that he exist, but I particulary, don't know anything about his music...

If you guys want to understand what's being said, post the lyrics, if you have them, and I'll translate it!

OMG! I want to visit Brazil someday! When I have time! I recently fell in love with the Brazilian culture. I love the Portuguese language. I love how it sounds when spoken. I love brazilian music too, "BOSSA NOVA" especially! Right now I have a favorite.......Rosa Passos. She's amazing singer, even though I don't understand what she is saying. Hey, and the men in Brazil, their not so bad looking either....lol

I love Cassia Eller, my own name is Eller, and I was happy to find a famous morena brasileira cousin out there. It is a shame she died so young. She was very soulful and genuine. If I would ask for any translations, she did a song called "Va morar com o diablo" which wish I could sing along with and understand the meaning of--the audience in her acustico album seems to enjoy this one. Something about "living with the devil", from what I can surmise, a bad spouse or lover, from what I can hear. No lyrics with the album...

Of course, I love Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto---the classics.

Other than Carlinhos Brown, I'm not too hip on anything new. And even Carlinhos has been around awhile. It's okay because I am old, anyway...
