Post a Totally Random Moment From Fashion History...

Ah how I miss the times when fashion magazines/adverts/shows weren't so neutered and devoid of any sex and desire

I remember the thread of controversial photoshoots, I couldn't think of a single shoot in the last 8-10 years that would end up in that thread these days (the last controversial one that comes to mind for me was the "Horror Movie" for VI April 2014).
We do have I-D, Dazed and Dust, but their version of sexy leans more "run-down cruising spot".

Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) gifting Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore) a pair of Gucci by Tom Ford shoes in Hannibal (2001).

I've just connected the gift of good shoes with this monologue, lol.

Read her to filth, Dr. Lecter: "You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition has given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, Agent Starling? And that accent you've tried so desperately to shed? Pure West Virginia. What's your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamb? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars... while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to the FBI."

It was absolutely connected to that monologue from the first film!
Also, this is the open magazine in her house that inspired him to buy the shoes. Minus the cutout of Starling's face, is this an actual Gucci campaign from 2000/1? I don't recall ever seeing it. @Lola701 we need your TF expertise! This really is a random fashion moment that popped into my head...

I am not Lola but it wasn't a real ad.
In one scene, Hannibal Lecter leaves a made-for-the-movie Gucci ad (from a fictional issue of Vogue) in Clarice Starling’s apartment, featuring a fall 2000 black satin sandal
