Who remembers the million dollar slap? Naomi Campbell was blamed at first but it wasn't her. In 2012, Jennifer Eymère slapped Lynn Tesoro in the face at a Zac Posen show then (dare I say iconically) stated 'Now you know you you don't f*ck with French people'. Tesoro sued for $1 million and the matter was settled out of court.

It then turned out that Eymère never hit Tesoro and it was actually her mother 63-year old Marie-José Jalou! At the time Marie was CEO of Éditions Jalou, Vanessa Bellugeon was also named in the lawsuit alongside her sister and mother but her statements never made it into the news.

After all, who in Paris didn’t know about the antics of that family.
I have never been a fan of them or of their magazine. The only thing relevant about l’Officiel was their accessories issues where they had all the accessories from all the brands.

You know it’s not stories per say but it’s a pile of things. The financial shows a sign of non-professionalism really.
They were rude and they expected the whole industry to bow down to them because L’Officiel was an old esteemed magazine and because some young people got to work for Jalouse. Personally in the brand I was working with, they were the most obnoxious. They were rude to staff, talking badly to assistants and there was this thing of coming as a family that I though gave them a boost of ego.
The only respectable and interesting person in there was Patrick Cabasset. Probably the only one who actually loved fashion and didn’t simply saw it as the social « club des copines » and status thing to weaponize against people.
