Prada F/W 2016.17 by Steven Meisel

You know.. this kinda grew on me. I guess shoving 27 models in a campaign works.
I still hate that hair though,

I don't get why everyone seems to love it now. I still don't like it, even though there is Vittoria Ceretti in it which is great.

Just like the 50 covers for a rag to cover all the bases, Prada casting 27 models is the same idea. And leaves them wide open to the lacking-in-racial-divesity finger-wagging-- which usually triggers an automatic response of my eyes to roll behind my as*. But this time, with 27 models, they so deserve the finger-wagging when less than a handful are MOC.

So brazen and outrageous!

Politics aside, what I admired most about Prada was their confidence to run with an idea. The insecure cracks are now starting to show here with this mass casting made up of cult models, carefully devised release tactics, and cramming as many looks into this possible. Who would've thought the high and mighty Miucca would nick tips off Marc Jacobs?????

How charming, 27 models. Because bigger is always better.....

For me Raquel, Sasha and Freja would have been more then enough. Now they'd be a campaign.

I don't mind the huge cast, everyone looks great.
I had my doubts by the HQ pictures released recently are amazing. I hope there are more clips :)

Marc Jacobs? I recall Prada has done big casts in the past. The one with amanda Murphy, anna Evers, Julia b, Cindy Bruna etc. and that was years ago and 20 something models then to. This isn't new for Prada and after seeing the video it's clear why they choose so many. I have to say this has grown on me. The video really makes it better. I wish the picture would come to life like the video!

Oh God, is that Julia Nobis? And maybe Ondria Hardin in the shot below? I like the shot of the girl next to Julia. Reminds me of Parker Posey in Blade Trinity.

^ Uhm sweetheart. The names of the whole cast were already revealed  that's Milla Jovovich.

 Ta!
So these are reposts then? Bummer! Still, I like Milla's shot. So much spunk. Nobis not so much.

When you just highlight that sentence, it does sound like I'm ghostwriting for Trump LOL

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, Benn: I support full-on racial diversity in high fashion—and I support unrestricted creativity above all else, because this is what high fashion and the presentation of high fashion, is all about.

Let designers freely cast whomever they’d like: if Gaultier’s current HC collection looks more supreme with a mostly Black cast, go for it; if Versace’s RTW’s unofficial revamp suits a multiracial cast, all the better; and if Rei prefers an all-White cast of skaterboys, so let Queen Rei reign freely. If one designer is going for an all-blond(e) Nordic cast, another designer may have a cast of mostly Blacks, Latinas (Latinos) and South Asians— and there are at least a couple handfuls of designers who will have a multiracial cast, so the pearl-clutching dramatics of “think of the (multiracial) children!” really does induce my natural eye-roll reflex... The insistence by some people that every single show, every single editorial and every single campaign must present a racially-diverse cast, just adds another blow to an already homogenous streak that high fashion is plagued with these dark days.

However, this Prada mess… for a campaign that seems to be based on the concept of the cosmos, the universe— even vaguely suggesting that these 27 women to represent womankind of the world— even the universe, then the huge cast would be better off with a racially-diverse balanced one. Flop campaign, Miuccia. (And flop prints with those ugly Venice Beach airbrushed cosmos images.)

^Thank you for posting.

After watching the video, gotta say that imo some girls (I dont know their names) have as much presence in motion than in print: zero.
Also, I dislike Lexi even more... and like Vittoria a loooot more :D

They really don't. This would've been so much better if all top models.

I would say Milla is the star of the video.
She serves more attitude in her 6 seconds than all the other girls put together; you can see she's an actress.
She's pretty flawless as a Prada woman.

Yea she is the perfect fit

I dunno why but I think this whole show's about the brunette, whether dyed or real :P
As well as curls/crimp

Imagine if the cast was diverse balanced with top models. Something like Raquel, Sasha, Freja, Milla, Liya, Fei Fei, and more. A dream
