Prada Mens F/W 2017.18 Milan

Exquisite collections! Loved them both, Mens F/W 2017 and Women's Pre-Fall 2017, and I also love that she is continuing the concept of those stunning 'hybrid' jackets, like she did for the F/W 2016 collections.

Ahhh, that late-60s/70s sweet spot. It's a favorite of her and so is mine. Fantastic collection! Flawless styling too. You can tell how at ease she was. I almost feel like this was a personal one for her, it has some very subtle political undertones. Can't help but picture her in a campus in those type those clothes, in that time, discussing philosophy and politics. It's interesting to make the connection between that era of youth engagement and the similar one we are currently living. Maybe that has nothing to do with the collection lol, but that's Prada for you, she gets under your skin and keeps your head spinning. Regardless, it's packed with fabulous sweaters, coats and jacket. A perfect wardrobe! And she can put a cool spin in "bad taste" fabrics like no one.

I always prefer when Miuccia Prada does " regular " clothes rather then her gimmicky "this will the IT product next season " ones. This collection has a more natural and not too forced vibe. And it is not boring either. Which feels good after seeing the London Costume, I mean, Fashion Week.

Poor collection. Yes, everything is wearable but it looks very rushed with repeated styling tricks and ugly-"pretty" touches that are just ugly this time. Pass from me.

I guess I just cannot look at Prada the way I used to.
Maybe it's me, Maybe it's her, I don't know.
It just does not feel fresh at all anymore.
The right ingredients are there, but at the end it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Love everything about the men's collection. Just beautiful clothes.
Great casting as well. People who are constantly looking for designers to reinvent the wheel 4 times a year, will always be disappointed.

Everyday People

I just wasn't sure.

So I put on the thinnest v neck I had, over a button down. Trousers. A sock and sandal combination. The strongest sensation was one of confinement but surely that was my own subconscious and nothing to do with such common, everyday styling. What was going on here?

Repeated viewings revealed specificity, certain ways of holding a bag and wearing a scarf (all the better to see the outfit, my dear). Nothing worth posting about. It wasn't until I realized I was ignoring the shattered soundtrack, the spiced sharp strains of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony second movement. A-ha.

An issued wardrobe then, for a rehabilitated, single and ready to mingle Alex from A Clockwork Orange, all spiffied up, declawed. Oh my brothers, can a flame so hot ever really be snuffed out?

Of course, Miuccia is not going to reinvent the wheel everytime...Most of the time, her work is about revisiting her archives rather than really create a new proposition. The collections that are really fresh are usually for me the ones that i enjoy after a little process...

FW2015 mens was actually boring but it was great because it felt fresh...Even if it was a rehash of one of her late 90's collection.

If you like Prada, this vocabulary will speak to you. If you like Prada and expect something more...Than something is missing.

The main problem with Prada is that people almost make it as if it's impossible for her to deliver bad collections. In people's mind, a good Prada collection will go down in history and a Bad Prada collection will became iconic because it is actually good.

As a Prada fan, i find that pretentious to death. She can also make mistakes...

^Or maybe people just really like the collections...

And even an "ok" Prada collection is still better than 90% of the others in the season.

This. And this is how i feel about this one. It's weak for her but compare to others, it's still good.

I don't have any problem with people liking it. It's not the point.
I have a problem when in the Prada case, not liking something "means" that you don't get it.

I loved her womenswear FW16 the minute i saw it but once in the shop, i found it horrible. The same for the SS14 collection...

Her menswear collections for FW16 & SS17 were glorious...So maybe it was impossible to deliver one more time.

At first it felt flat, particularly after such seasons that seem to be so full of meaning and story. I spent a long time just looking through the fall one of '16
But this is perfect. Clothing wise, totally something worth what you pay for
And, actually little poetic elements here and there, with the necklaces and women's watercolour floral socks, cubist figured purses... I want to know more about those. They seem a bit out of place maybe. She never fails to make it memorable, in comparison to her collections of past. You can always distinguish some main thought

This collection are better than their last season.I can see people will buy it.

Probably her most saleable and attractive I have seen in years. I quite like this.
